PM to launch Pakistan’s first national emergency helpline “911”

According to the news sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over a meeting on Wednesday to discuss measures linked to the Pakistan Emergency Helpline (PEHEL)-911.

The meeting informed PM Imran Khan that all 36 individual emergency lines for the provision of emergency services like fire brigade, police, health assistance, disaster recovery, and motorway police will be consolidated into Pakistan Emergency Helpline (PEHEL)-911.

According to the detail, the prime minister was informed that the caller would only need to dial 911 and the call would be forwarded to the appropriate emergency response department.

During the meeting, the PM urged the authorities in charge to take all necessary steps to ensure the helpline’s smooth operation, including a trial run and soft launch before its official introduction in the holy month of Ramazan.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق وزیراعظم عمران خان نے بدھ کو ایک اجلاس کی صدارت کی جس میں پاکستان ایمرجنسی ہیلپ لائن (پی ای ایچ ای ایل)-911 سے متعلق اقدامات پر غور کیا گیا۔
اجلاس میں وزیراعظم عمران خان کو بتایا گیا کہ ایمرجنسی سروسز جیسے فائر بریگیڈ، پولیس، ہیلتھ اسسٹنس، ڈیزاسٹر ریکوری، اور موٹروے پولیس کی فراہمی کے لیے تمام 36 انفرادی ایمرجنسی لائنوں کو پاکستان ایمرجنسی ہیلپ لائن (پی ای ایچ ای ایل)-911 میں یکجا کیا جائے گا۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق وزیراعظم کو بتایا گیا کہ کال کرنے والے کو صرف 911 ڈائل کرنے کی ضرورت ہوگی اور کال کو مناسب ایمرجنسی رسپانس ڈیپارٹمنٹ کو بھیج دیا جائے گا۔
میٹنگ کے دوران، وزیر اعظم نے انچارج حکام پر زور دیا کہ وہ رمضان کے مقدس مہینے میں اس کے باضابطہ تعارف سے قبل ہیلپ لائن کے ہموار آپریشن کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے تمام ضروری اقدامات کریں، بشمول آزمائشی رن اور سافٹ لانچ۔
