PM suggests tax relief for hotels providing quality services at tourist destinations

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday called for the provision of international standard services at hotels and restaurants at all tourist destinations across the country.

While chairing a National Coordination Committee (NCC) meeting, he suggested tax relief for hotels that provide quality services to tourists.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Mahmood Khan, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Hussain Chaudhry, and Focal Person to Prime Minister on Political Communication, Shehbaz Gill, also attended the meeting.

PM Imran directed provincial authorities to resolve tourism-related issues on a priority basis to further boost this sector. “Pakistan has a huge potential for tourism, and we need to utilize it,” he said.

While pointing out to the rest houses and other historic places in Jhelum, the premier ordered to establish a public-private partnership model for the promotion of tourism in the region.

In a previous address, PM Imran had highlighted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has left behind other provinces in terms of poverty reduction. He noted that it had been possible due to significant tourism growth in the province.

Note that the KP was the center of tourism during the Eid holidays this year. According to an official estimate, more than 2.7 million people visited Northern areas.

لاہور: وزیراعظم عمران خان نے ایک اجلاس میں تجویز دی کہ ملک بھر کے سیاحتی مقامات پر معیاری خدمات فراہم کرنے والے ہوٹلوں کو ٹیکس میں ریلیف فراہم کیا جائے۔

وزیراعظم عمران خان نے بدھ کے روز ملک بھر کے تمام سیاحتی مقامات پر ہوٹلوں اور ریستورانوں میں بین الاقوامی معیار کی خدمات کی فراہمی پر زور دیا۔

قومی رابطہ کمیٹی (این سی سی) کے اجلاس کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے سیاحوں کو معیاری خدمات فراہم کرنے والے ہوٹلوں کے لیے ٹیکس میں ریلیف کی تجویز دی۔

وزیراعلیٰ خیبرپختونخوا (کے پی) ، محمود خان ، وفاقی وزیر اطلاعات و نشریات فواد حسین چوہدری ، اور سیاسی رابطے کے وزیر اعظم کے فوکل پرسن شہباز گل نے بھی اجلاس میں شرکت کی۔

وزیراعظم عمران نے صوبائی حکام کو ہدایت کی کہ سیاحت سے متعلقہ مسائل کو ترجیحی بنیادوں پر حل کیا جائے تاکہ اس شعبے کو مزید فروغ دیا جا سکے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان میں سیاحت کے وسیع امکانات ہیں اور ہمیں اسے استعمال کرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔

جہلم میں ریسٹ ہاؤسز اور دیگر تاریخی مقامات کی طرف اشارہ کرتے ہوئے وزیراعظم نے خطے میں سیاحت کے فروغ کے لیے پبلک پرائیویٹ پارٹنر شپ ماڈل قائم کرنے کا حکم دیا۔

پچھلے خطاب میں ، وزیر اعظم عمران نے اس بات پر روشنی ڈالی تھی کہ خیبر پختونخوا نے غربت میں کمی کے حوالے سے دوسرے صوبوں کو پیچھے چھوڑ دیا ہے۔ انہوں نے نوٹ کیا کہ یہ صوبے میں سیاحت کی نمایاں ترقی کی وجہ سے ممکن ہوا ہے۔

نوٹ کریں کہ کے پی اس سال عید کی چھٹیوں کے دوران سیاحت کا مرکز تھا۔ ایک سرکاری اندازے کے مطابق 2.7 ملین سے زائد افراد نے شمالی علاقوں کا دورہ کیا۔
