PM launches health card for Rawalpindi, Islamabad

According to the news sources, Under the Sehat card scheme, all households of Islamabad, Punjab, Azad Jammu, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Tharparkar will be provided free medical treatment at government and private hospitals.

While talking to the presenters of the ceremony PM Imran Khan acknowledged the performance of Mr. Buzdar, especially in ensuring the provision of universal health coverage to the people of Punjab, he further added that Usman belongs to one of the most backward areas of the country and thus realizes the suffering and problems confronting people.”

According to the details, PM distributed health cards among the beneficiaries and called the facility an ambitious program to ease the entire populace. Universal health coverage, he said, was available in just a few countries where the government fully covered medical expenses.

“I have been inspired by the health insurance program in the UK under which people get free medical treatment in any government hospital. But we have gone a step ahead and offered free treatment at public as well as private sector hospitals,” he added.

In Pakistan, he said, the launch of such a facility was a “landmark step” to give relief to the poor who cannot afford the burden of expensive medical facilities. He said the philosophy behind the provision of health cards was in line with the achievement of the goal of a welfare state. He added that national security is linked with the welfare of people who are the biggest stakeholders in a state.

According to the details he further said, Prime Minister Khan said the health card was a defining moment in encouraging the private sector to join the medical network, especially in rural areas, and create an environment of competition for the government hospitals to improve their services.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق صحت کارڈ سکیم کے تحت اسلام آباد، پنجاب، آزاد جموں، کشمیر، گلگت بلتستان اور تھرپارکر کے تمام گھرانوں کو سرکاری اور نجی ہسپتالوں میں مفت علاج کی سہولت فراہم کی جائے گی۔
تقریب کے شرکاء سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے وزیر اعظم عمران خان نے بزدار کی کارکردگی کو سراہتے ہوئے خاص طور پر پنجاب کے عوام کو یونیورسل ہیلتھ کوریج کی فراہمی کو یقینی بنانے کے حوالے سے مزید کہا کہ عثمان کا تعلق ملک کے پسماندہ ترین علاقوں میں سے ایک ہے۔ اور اس طرح لوگوں کو درپیش مصائب اور مسائل کا احساس ہوتا ہے۔"
تفصیلات کے مطابق وزیر اعظم نے مستحقین میں ہیلتھ کارڈز تقسیم کیے اور اس سہولت کو پوری عوام کی سہولت کے لیے ایک پرجوش پروگرام قرار دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یونیورسل ہیلتھ کوریج صرف چند ممالک میں دستیاب ہے جہاں حکومت مکمل طور پر طبی اخراجات کا احاطہ کرتی ہے۔
"میں برطانیہ میں ہیلتھ انشورنس پروگرام سے متاثر ہوا ہوں جس کے تحت لوگوں کو کسی بھی سرکاری ہسپتال میں مفت علاج ملتا ہے۔ لیکن ہم ایک قدم آگے بڑھے ہیں اور سرکاری اور نجی شعبے کے ہسپتالوں میں مفت علاج کی پیشکش کی ہے،‘‘ انہوں نے مزید کہا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان میں اس طرح کی سہولت کا آغاز ان غریبوں کو ریلیف دینے کے لیے ایک "تاریخی قدم" تھا جو مہنگی طبی سہولیات کا بوجھ برداشت نہیں کر سکتے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہیلتھ کارڈز کی فراہمی کا فلسفہ فلاحی ریاست کے مقصد کے حصول کے مطابق ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ قومی سلامتی ان لوگوں کی فلاح و بہبود سے منسلک ہے جو ریاست کے سب سے بڑے اسٹیک ہولڈر ہیں۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق انہوں نے مزید کہا، وزیر اعظم خان نے کہا کہ ہیلتھ کارڈ نجی شعبے کو میڈیکل نیٹ ورک میں شامل ہونے کی حوصلہ افزائی کرنے کے لیے ایک اہم لمحہ ہے، خاص طور پر دیہی علاقوں میں، اور سرکاری اسپتالوں میں اپنی خدمات کو بہتر بنانے کے لیے مقابلے کا ماحول پیدا کرنا ہے۔
