PM Khan to launch Pakistan's first-ever digital city in Haripur

According to the news sources, the prime minister will be accompanied by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, federal and provincial ministers.

The Pakistan Digital City project will be completed at a cost of Rs1.31 billion and scattered over 86 kanals of land.

Pakistan Digital City Haripur is a flagship project of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government being launched to provide all facilities to the IT industry in one place.

The project aims to serve as an advanced facility to enable collaborations and innovation amongst academia, research, industry, and planners from within the country and abroad.

It will benefit other allied industries like electronics, software houses, mobile phone industry, technology incubators, computer industry in the province

The KP govt had approved the ‘Digital City’ project in Haripur earlier in August 2021 which will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.3 billion.

Last month, Prime Minister Imran Khan had inaugurated Lahore Technopolis, a special technology zone, to create jobs and boost Pakistan’s tech exports.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق وزیراعظم کے ہمراہ خیبرپختونخوا (کے پی) کے وزیراعلیٰ محمود خان، وفاقی اور صوبائی وزراء بھی ہوں گے۔
پاکستان ڈیجیٹل سٹی منصوبہ 1.31 بلین روپے کی لاگت سے مکمل کیا جائے گا اور یہ 86 کنال اراضی پر پھیلا ہوا ہے۔
پاکستان ڈیجیٹل سٹی ہری پور خیبرپختونخوا حکومت کا ایک اہم منصوبہ ہے جس کا آغاز آئی ٹی انڈسٹری کو ایک ہی جگہ پر تمام سہولیات فراہم کرنے کے لیے کیا جا رہا ہے۔
اس منصوبے کا مقصد ملک اور بیرون ملک سے تعلیمی، تحقیق، صنعت اور منصوبہ سازوں کے درمیان تعاون اور اختراع کو فعال کرنے کے لیے ایک جدید سہولت کے طور پر کام کرنا ہے۔
اس سے صوبے کی دیگر متعلقہ صنعتوں جیسے الیکٹرانکس، سافٹ ویئر ہاؤسز، موبائل فون انڈسٹری، ٹیکنالوجی انکیوبیٹرز، کمپیوٹر انڈسٹری کو فائدہ پہنچے گا۔
کے پی حکومت نے اگست 2021 کے اوائل میں ہری پور میں ’ڈیجیٹل سٹی‘ منصوبے کی منظوری دی تھی جس کی تعمیر پر تخمینہ لاگت 2000 کروڑ روپے ہوگی۔ 1.3 بلین۔
گزشتہ ماہ، وزیراعظم عمران خان نے روزگار کے مواقع پیدا کرنے اور پاکستان کی ٹیک برآمدات کو بڑھانے کے لیے لاہور ٹیکنو پولس، ایک خصوصی ٹیکنالوجی زون کا افتتاح کیا تھا۔
