PM Imran to inaugurate Karachi's Green Line bus service today

While talking to the media, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has said that no major contribution was made by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government to the Green Line bus service in Karachi after the revolutionary of the project in February 2016.

After visiting the route of Green Line on Thursday, he talks to the media and said, a day before the formal inauguration of the project by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“There was only the track but no operation plan, buses procurement policy, and business execution in place,” he said. “It was in May 2020 when the federal government finally decided to not only complete the project but also make it functional. So, despite the delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, the project has been completed and Prime Minister Imran Khan is going to inaugurate it tomorrow,” he added.

میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے وفاقی وزیر برائے منصوبہ بندی، ترقی اور خصوصی اقدامات اسد عمر نے کہا ہے کہ فروری 2016 میں منصوبے کا سنگ بنیاد رکھنے کے بعد پاکستان مسلم لیگ نواز کی حکومت نے کراچی میں گرین لائن بس سروس میں کوئی بڑا تعاون نہیں کیا۔وہ جمعرات کو وزیراعظم عمران خان کی جانب سے منصوبے کے باضابطہ افتتاح سے ایک روز قبل گرین لائن کے روٹ کا دورہ کرنے کے بعد صحافیوں سے گفتگو کر رہے تھے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ "صرف ٹریک تھا لیکن آپریشن کا کوئی منصوبہ نہیں، بسوں کی خریداری کی پالیسی اور کاروبار پر عمل درآمد"۔ "یہ مئی 2020 میں تھا جب آخر کار وفاقی حکومت نے نہ صرف اس منصوبے کو مکمل کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا بلکہ اسے فعال بھی بنایا۔ لہذا کوویڈ 19 وبائی پابندیوں کی وجہ سے ہونے والی تاخیر کے باوجود، منصوبہ مکمل ہو گیا ہے اور وزیر اعظم عمران خان کل اس کا افتتاح کرنے جا رہے ہیں۔
