PM Imran Khan Terms Approval of Amazon for Pakistan A "Great Development'

The premier said the recent development will help create opportunities for our youth to increase the exports for the country.

PM’s Advisor on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razzak Dawood revealed that Amazon would be adding Pakistan to its sellers' list. "We have finally made it. We have been engaged with Amazon since last year and now it’s happening," he had said on his official Twitter account.

"It is a great opportunity for our youth, small and medium enterprises, and women entrepreneurs."

An important milestone of the e-Commerce policy has been achieved through teamwork by many people across the globe, the adviser said.

Previously it was confirmed that Pakistan would be listed among the approved countries of Amazon by the end of April 2021, but it was delayed for a few days.

The ministry of commerce and Pakistan Consulate General Los Angeles were pushing to give this good news to the whole Pakistan nation before Eid-ul-Fitr, said the informed sources privy to the development.

Meanwhile, Economic Counsellor, Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the WTO and Additional Secretary Ministry of Commerce Aisha Moriani said that the approval would benefit the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), small investors, and individual freelancers.

She said the new era of the e-commerce boom for Pakistan was about to start with a landmark decision.

Aisha Moriani has been actively engaged in the process of getting approval for Pakistan in the Amazon sellers list. She said now the small investors and SMEs would be able to sell their products across the globe by using the platform of Amazon.

However, she advised the people involved in the e-commerce business to maintain the international standard of their products otherwise their accounts could be banned permanently.

She said the women skilled workers and domestic manufactures would also get an opportunity to sell their products internationally without leaving their homes.

وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ حالیہ ترقی سے ہمارے نوجوانوں کو ملک کے لئے برآمدات میں اضافہ کرنے کے مواقع پیدا کرنے میں مدد ملے گی۔

وزیر اعظم کے مشیر برائے تجارت و سرمایہ کاری عبدالرزاق داؤد نے انکشاف کیا کہ ایمیزون پاکستان کو اپنے فروخت کنندگان کی فہرست میں شامل کرے گا۔ انہوں نے اپنے آفیشل ٹویٹر اکاؤنٹ پر کہا تھا کہ "ہم نے آخر کار اس کی تشکیل کی ہے۔ ہم گذشتہ سال سے ایمیزون کے ساتھ منسلک ہیں اور اب ہو رہا ہے۔"

"یہ ہمارے نوجوانوں ، چھوٹے اور درمیانے درجے کے کاروباری اداروں اور خواتین کاروباری افراد کے لئے ایک بہت بڑا موقع ہے۔"

مشیر نے کہا کہ ای کامرس پالیسی کا ایک اہم سنگ میل پوری دنیا کے بہت سارے لوگوں نے ٹیم ورک کے ذریعے حاصل کیا ہے۔

پہلے یہ تصدیق ہوگئی تھی کہ اپریل 2021 کے آخر تک پاکستان کو ایمیزون کے منظور شدہ ممالک میں شامل کیا جائے گا ، لیکن اس میں کچھ دن کے لئے تاخیر ہوئی۔

باخبر ذرائع کا کہنا ہے کہ وزارت تجارت اور پاکستان کے قونصل خانہ جنرل لاس اینجلس عید الفطر سے قبل پوری پاکستان قوم کو یہ خوشخبری سنانے کے لئے زور دے رہے ہیں۔

دریں اثنا ، اقتصادی مشیر ، ڈبلیو ٹی او میں پاکستان کے مستقل مشن اور ایڈیشنل سیکرٹری وزارت تجارت عائشہ موریانی نے کہا کہ اس منظوری سے سمال اینڈ میڈیم انٹرپرائزز (ایس ایم ای) ، چھوٹے سرمایہ کاروں اور انفرادی فری لانسرز کو فائدہ ہوگا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان کے لئے ای کامرس میں تیزی کا نیا دور ایک تاریخی فیصلے کے ساتھ شروع ہونے والا ہے۔

عائشہ موریانی ایمیزون بیچنے والوں کی فہرست میں پاکستان کے لئے منظوری حاصل کرنے کے عمل میں سرگرم عمل ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اب چھوٹے سرمایہ کار اور ایس ایم ایز ایمیزون کے پلیٹ فارم کا استعمال کرکے پوری دنیا میں اپنی مصنوعات فروخت کرسکیں گے۔

تاہم ، انہوں نے ای کامرس کے کاروبار میں شامل لوگوں کو مشورہ دیا کہ وہ اپنی مصنوعات کا بین الاقوامی معیار برقرار رکھیں بصورت دیگر ان کے کھاتوں پر مستقل طور پر پابندی عائد کی جاسکتی ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ خواتین ہنرمند کارکنوں اور گھریلو مینوفیکچروں کو بھی اپنے گھروں کو چھوڑے بغیر بین الاقوامی سطح پر اپنی مصنوعات فروخت کرنے کا موقع ملے گا۔
