PM asks people to take active part in Plantation Drive

Prime minister Imran Khan apparently referred to the upcoming monsoon tree plantation drive in the country under his government’s ambitious Ten Billion Tree Tsunami project and Green and Clean Pakistan initiative.

The prime minister stressed that the countrymen have to accelerate their efforts to plant maximum saplings during the campaign.

“I want all Pakistanis, especially our youth, to gear up for the biggest tree planting campaign in our history. We have a lot of catching up to do,” he posted on his Twitter account along with a graph showing the numbers of trees per person around different countries of the world.

“According to which the world has 422 trees for every person but in Pakistan, this ratio stands around five trees per person. And we will be gearing up this monsoon season for our plantation drive - the biggest in Pakistan’s history," he further added in a related tweet.

A study in the journal of Nature reported close to 3.04 trillion trees on earth.

According to another data compiled by different international research bodies, about 50% of these trees in the world are present in the five biggest countries, while two-thirds were in just ten countries, leaving just 1990 billion trees for the rest of the world.

Tree wealth, an ecological term, can also be measured in terms of the most significant number of trees per person.

As per the entire world’s population and tree resources, there are 422 trees for every individual.

ذرائع کے مطابق موصولہ خبر کے مطابق ، وزیر اعظم عمران خان نے تمام لوگوں خصوصا نوجوانوں سے ملک کی سب سے بڑی درخت لگانے کی مہم میں بڑھ چڑھ کر حصہ لینے کی اپیل کی۔

وزیر اعظم عمران خان نے اپنی حکومت کے دس ارب بلین درخت سونامی منصوبے اور گرین اینڈ کلین پاکستان اقدام کے تحت ملک میں آئندہ مون سون ٹری پلانٹ ڈرائیو کا حوالہ دیا۔
وزیر اعظم نے زور دے کر کہا کہ مہم کے دوران شہریوں کو زیادہ سے زیادہ پودے لگانے کی کوششوں کو تیز کرنا ہوگا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ میں چاہتا ہوں کہ تمام پاکستانی ، خصوصا ہمارے نوجوان ، ہماری تاریخ کی سب سے بڑی درخت لگانے کی مہم کو تیار کریں۔ انہوں نے اپنے ٹویٹر اکاؤنٹ پر ایک گراف کے ساتھ شائع کیا جس میں دنیا کے مختلف ممالک میں ہر شخص کے درختوں کی تعداد دکھائی گئی ہے۔
“جس کے مطابق دنیا میں ہر شخص کے لئے 422 درخت ہیں لیکن پاکستان میں یہ تناسب فی شخص پانچ درختوں کے لگ بھگ ہے۔ انہوں نے ایک متعلقہ ٹویٹ میں مزید کہا ، اور ہم اپنی پودے لگانے کی مہم کے لئے اس مون سون کے سیزن کو تیار کرلیں گے۔
نیچر کے جریدے میں ہونے والی ایک تحقیق میں زمین پر 3.04 ٹریلین درختوں کے قریب خبر دی گئی ہے۔
مختلف بین الاقوامی تحقیقی اداروں کے مرتب کردہ ایک اور اعداد و شمار کے مطابق ، دنیا میں ان درختوں کا تقریبا 50 50٪ پانچ بڑے ممالک میں موجود ہے ، جبکہ دوتہائی صرف دس ممالک میں تھے ، جس نے باقی دنیا کے لئے صرف 1990 ارب درخت چھوڑے تھے۔
ایک درخت دولت ، ایک ماحولیاتی اصطلاح ، ہر شخص کے درختوں کی انتہائی اہم تعداد کے لحاظ سے بھی ماپا جاسکتا ہے۔
پوری دنیا کی آبادی اور درخت کے وسائل کے مطابق ، ہر فرد کے لئے 422 درخت ہیں۔
