Planned development imperative to check future civic problems: Farrukh Habib

Addressing a meeting at the Faisalabad Development Authority offices here, he said that on the special directive of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the FDA was preparing a master plan for the emerging metropolis of central Punjab.

He said that mushroom growth of urban cities had deteriorated quality of life, in addition to further complicating the civic problems. He said that the PM had issued clear directions for ensuring planned and systematic growth of the cities so that we could give neat and clean and problem-free cities to the coming generations.

Earlier, FDA Director-General Dr. Faisal Azeem briefed the state minister and said that Master Plan 2021-41 would play a pivotal role in the socio-economic development of Faisalabad, which is the third-largest city of Pakistan.

He said the plan had been designed according to international standards and now all stakeholders including members of national and provincial assemblies were being consulted for improvement in the project and giving final touches to its feasibility.

FDA Chairman Chaudhry Lateef Nazar, Chairman Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) Mian Waris Aziz, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Labour Mian Shakeel Shahid, MPA Chaudhry Ali Akhtar, Mian Nabeel Arshad, Sher Afgan Cheema, and others were also present in the meeting.

یہاں فیصل آباد ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کے دفاتر میں ایک اجلاس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ وزیراعظم عمران خان کی خصوصی ہدایت پر ایف ڈی اے وسطی پنجاب کے ابھرتے ہوئے میٹروپولیس کے لیے ماسٹر پلان تیار کر رہا ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ شہری شہروں میں مشروم کی نشوونما نے معیار زندگی کو خراب کیا ہے ، اس کے علاوہ شہری مسائل کو مزید پیچیدہ بنا دیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وزیر اعظم نے شہروں کی منصوبہ بند اور منظم ترقی کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے واضح ہدایات جاری کی ہیں تاکہ ہم آنے والی نسلوں کو صاف ستھرا اور مسائل سے پاک شہر دے سکیں۔

اس سے قبل ، ایف ڈی اے کے ڈائریکٹر جنرل ڈاکٹر فیصل عظیم نے وزیر مملکت کو بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ ماسٹر پلان 2021-41 فیصل آباد کی سماجی و اقتصادی ترقی میں اہم کردار ادا کرے گا جو کہ پاکستان کا تیسرا بڑا شہر ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ منصوبہ بین الاقوامی معیار کے مطابق ڈیزائن کیا گیا تھا اور اب تمام اسٹیک ہولڈرز بشمول قومی اور صوبائی اسمبلیوں کے ارکان سے اس منصوبے میں بہتری اور اس کی فزیبلٹی کو حتمی شکل دینے کے لیے مشاورت کی جا رہی ہے۔

اجلاس میں ایف ڈی اے کے چیئرمین چوہدری لطیف نذر ، چیئرمین پارکس اینڈ ہارٹیکلچر اتھارٹی (پی ایچ اے) میاں وارث عزیز ، صوبائی پارلیمانی سیکرٹری برائے محنت میاں شکیل شاہد ، ایم پی اے چوہدری علی اختر ، میاں نبیل ارشد ، شیر افگن چیمہ اور دیگر بھی موجود تھے۔
