PDWP approved a new design for the remodeling of Kutchery Chowk

The project is set to be completed within a year, without the closure of traffic on the main square. The new design will follow the construction of a flyover which will help cater to the traffic coming from the Rawat side after the construction of the Kharian Motorway is completed. The motorway will connect the Grand Trunk Road and the proposed Rawalpindi Ring Road. This will provide an easy way to 131,500 vehicles per day. The previous design was only capable of catering up to 100,000 vehicles per day.

The cost of the project has increased as well, from Rs.4.879 billion to Rs.6.422 billion since the addition of the flyover adds a 25 percent increase in the cost of the construction materials.

مرکزی چوک پر ٹریفک کی بندش کے بغیر یہ منصوبہ ایک سال کے اندر مکمل ہونا ہے۔ نیا ڈیزائن ایک فلائی اوور کی تعمیر کی پیروی کرے گا جو کھاریاں موٹر وے کی تعمیر مکمل ہونے کے بعد روات کی طرف سے آنے والی ٹریفک کو پورا کرنے میں مدد کرے گا۔ موٹروے گرینڈ ٹرنک روڈ اور مجوزہ راولپنڈی رنگ روڈ کو جوڑے گی۔ یہ روزانہ 131,500 گاڑیوں کو آسان راستہ فراہم کرے گا۔ پچھلا ڈیزائن صرف روزانہ 100,000 گاڑیوں کو پورا کرنے کے قابل تھا۔
منصوبے کی لاگت بھی 4.879 بلین روپے سے بڑھ کر 6.422 بلین روپے تک پہنچ گئی ہے کیونکہ فلائی اوور کے اضافے سے تعمیراتی سامان کی لاگت میں 25 فیصد اضافہ ہوا ہے۔
