Panel calls for early completion of Gwadar airport

A meeting of the committee presided over by its Chairman Sher Ali Arbab member of national assembly, in Gwadar received briefing on various infrastructure, energy and socio-economic development projects under the CPEC framework.

Members of the committee Aslam Bhootani, Sadaqat Ali Abbasi, Noor Alam Khan, Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Zahid AkramDurrani attended the meeting.

The committee observed that timely operation of the airport would prove conducive for effective operationalizing of Gwadar deep seaport and recommended its expeditious completion and avoiding delay caused either by Pakistan or Chinese side.

Institutional efforts should be made to take up the issue with the Chinese side to meet the timelines for completion of the project.

The Civil Aviation Division secretary briefed the committee on the progress of work on the airport.

He informed the committee that the Gwadar Free Zone Policy had been approved which provided potential incentives for imports and exports and it would pave the way for triggering economic activities in Pakistan.

The committee decided to convene a special meeting to sort out issues of energy and Gwadar Development Authority with other stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of the specific projects at Gwadar.

گوادر میں اس کمیٹی کے چیئرمین شیر علی ارباب ممبر قومی اسمبلی کی زیرصدارت کمیٹی کے اجلاس میں سی پی ای سی فریم ورک کے تحت مختلف بنیادی ڈھانچے ، توانائی اور سماجی و اقتصادی ترقیاتی منصوبوں کے بارے میں بریفنگ حاصل کی گئی۔

کمیٹی کے ممبر اسلم بھوتانی ، صداقت علی عباسی ، نور عالم خان ، مرتضیٰ جاوید عباسی اور زاہد اکرم درانی نے اجلاس میں شرکت کی۔

کمیٹی نے مشاہدہ کیا کہ ہوائی اڈے کا بروقت آپریشن گوادر کے گہرے ساحل پر موثر انداز میں چلانے کے لئے موزوں ثابت ہوگا اور اس کی جلد تکمیل اور پاکستان یا چین کی طرف سے تاخیر سے بچنے کی سفارش کی گئی ہے۔

منصوبے کی تکمیل کے لئے ٹائم لائنز کو پورا کرنے کے لئے ادارہ جاتی کوششوں کو چینی فریق کے ساتھ اٹھانے کی کوشش کی جانی چاہئے

سول ایوی ایشن ڈویژن کے سکریٹری نے کمیٹی کو ہوائی اڈے پر کام کی پیشرفت سے آگاہ کیا۔

انہوں نے کمیٹی کو بتایا کہ گوادر فری زون پالیسی کو منظوری دے دی گئی ہے جس سے درآمدات اور برآمدات کو ممکنہ مراعات فراہم کی گئیں اور اس سے پاکستان میں معاشی سرگرمیوں کو متحرک کرنے کی راہ ہموار ہوگی۔

کمیٹی نے گوادر میں مخصوص منصوبوں کی بروقت تکمیل کو یقینی بنانے کے لئے توانائی اور گوادر ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کے مسائل کو دوسرے اسٹیک ہولڈرز کے ساتھ حل کرنے کے لئے خصوصی اجلاس طلب کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا۔
