Pakistan’s furniture exports increased in 4 months

According to the news sources, Mian Kashif Ashfaq, Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) said that Pakistan’s furniture exports increased by 202.49 percent in the first four months of this fiscal year compared to the same period the previous year.

He was speaking with a group of SMEs led by Nasir Hussain, Chenone’s chief financial officer, who had come to see him.

According to him, furniture worth US $2.78 million was exported during the period under consideration, compared to the same period the previous year.

According to the news sources he claimed that the furniture business had a lot of potentials to dominate global markets with inspired designs and that it could help boost exports dramatically.

However, he noted that a package of incentives and facilitation was urgently required to raise exports even more. He predicted that if the government provided complete backing, furniture exports might reach $5 billion in the next five years.         

He also added that the furniture industry would thrive and flourish in the coming years under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s energetic leadership.

خبر رساں ذرائع کے مطابق پاکستان فرنیچر کونسل (پی ایف سی) کے چیف ایگزیکٹو آفیسر میاں کاشف اشفاق نے کہا کہ پاکستان کی فرنیچر کی برآمدات میں رواں مالی سال کے پہلے چار ماہ میں گزشتہ سال کی اسی مدت کے مقابلے میں 202.49 فیصد اضافہ ہوا ہے۔
وہ چنون کے چیف فنانشل آفیسر ناصر حسین کی قیادت میں ایس ایم ایز کے ایک گروپ سے بات کر رہے تھے جو ان سے ملنے آئے تھے۔
ان کے مطابق، زیر غور مدت کے دوران 2.78 ملین امریکی ڈالر مالیت کا فرنیچر برآمد کیا گیا، جو پچھلے سال کی اسی مدت کے مقابلے میں تھا۔
نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق انہوں نے دعویٰ کیا کہ فرنیچر کے کاروبار میں متاثر کن ڈیزائنوں کے ساتھ عالمی منڈیوں پر غلبہ حاصل کرنے کے بہت زیادہ امکانات ہیں اور اس سے برآمدات کو ڈرامائی طور پر بڑھانے میں مدد مل سکتی ہے۔
تاہم، انہوں نے نوٹ کیا کہ برآمدات کو مزید بڑھانے کے لیے فوری طور پر مراعات اور سہولت فراہم کرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔ انہوں نے پیش گوئی کی کہ اگر حکومت نے مکمل حمایت فراہم کی تو اگلے پانچ سالوں میں فرنیچر کی برآمدات 5 بلین ڈالر تک پہنچ سکتی ہیں۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ وزیر اعظم عمران خان کی ولولہ انگیز قیادت میں آنے والے سالوں میں فرنیچر کی صنعت پروان چڑھے گی۔
