Pakistan to Import LPG from Iran in Exchange of Rice
LAHORE: Pakistan and Iran have agreed on a barter deal to exchange rice and import liquified petroleum gas (LPG), announced Adviser to Prime Minister on Trade and Commerce.
According to the news sources, Abdul Razak Dawood, Adviser to Prime Minister on Trade and Commerce said that Pakistan and Iran have agreed on a barter deal to sell rice and buy liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)
According to a memorandum of understanding reached during the 9th Joint Trade Committee (JTC) meeting in Tehran earlier this month, Pakistan would buy LPG from Iran in exchange for rice under the barter deal.
At the JTC, both sides agreed to grow bilateral trade to $5 billion by 2023. Moreover, Dawood indicated at a press conference held at the Karachi Press Club that barter commerce between the two neighboring countries would begin in a month or two.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق وزیر اعظم کے مشیر برائے تجارت و کامرس عبدالرزاق داؤد نے کہا کہ پاکستان اور ایران نے چاول کی فروخت اور مائع پٹرولیم گیس (ایل پی جی) خریدنے کے بارٹر ڈیل پر اتفاق کیا ہے۔
اس ماہ کے شروع میں تہران میں 9ویں مشترکہ تجارتی کمیٹی (جےٹی سی) کے اجلاس کے دوران طے پانے والی مفاہمت کی یادداشت کے مطابق، پاکستان بارٹر ڈیل کے تحت چاول کے بدلے ایران سے ایل پی جی خریدے گا۔
جے ٹی سی میں، دونوں فریقین نے 2023 تک دو طرفہ تجارت کو 5 بلین ڈالر تک بڑھانے پر اتفاق کیا۔ مزید برآں، داؤد نے کراچی پریس کلب میں منعقدہ ایک پریس کانفرنس میں اشارہ کیا کہ دونوں پڑوسی ممالک کے درمیان بارٹر کامرس ایک یا دو ماہ میں شروع ہو جائے گی۔
