Pakistan to Boost Tea Plantation Under CPEC

According to the news sources, China is fully engaged with Pakistan under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Pakistan can easily benefit from the expertise and resources that Beijing enjoys as all potential tea-growing areas lie on both sides of the CPEC route, providing easy access to markets.

Furthermore, China has already established NTRI in Shinkiari and it will love to adopt it for a B2B venture in the agriculture sector. The expert, who led the Chinese team during 1986-1989, has expressed his willingness to visit Pakistan again.

According to the details, the latest technology including the tea processing and blending units will also have to be imported to initiate tea processing on a commercial scale.

At a Zoom seminar, organized by the China-Pakistan Agricultural and Industrial Cooperation Information Platform on June 23, 2021, the participants from Pakistan and China emphasized the need for cooperation in the commercialization of tea in Pakistan.

According to the news sources, the CPEC may provide technical and financial support under B2B or any other suitable mode while the tea cluster approach proposed by the agricultural transformation plan can also be implemented.

This way Pakistan may enjoy its home-grown tea on a commercial basis and reduce or even eliminate foreign exchange spending on tea imports.

مزید برآں، چین پہلے ہی شنکیاری میں (این ٹی آر آئ) قائم کر چکا ہے اور وہ اسے زراعت کے شعبے میں بی2بی منصوبے کے لیے اپنانا پسند کرے گا۔ 1986-1989 کے دوران چینی ٹیم کی قیادت کرنے والے ماہر نے دوبارہ پاکستان کا دورہ کرنے پر آمادگی ظاہر کی ہے۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق تجارتی پیمانے پر چائے کی پروسیسنگ شروع کرنے کے لیے جدید ترین ٹیکنالوجی بشمول چائے کی پروسیسنگ اور بلینڈنگ یونٹس کو بھی درآمد کرنا پڑے گا۔
23 جون 2021 کو چائنا پاکستان ایگریکلچرل اینڈ انڈسٹریل کوآپریشن انفارمیشن پلیٹ فارم کے زیر اہتمام زوم سیمینار میں پاکستان اور چین کے شرکاء نے پاکستان میں چائے کی کمرشلائزیشن میں تعاون کی ضرورت پر زور دیا۔
خبر رساں ذرائع کے مطابق سی پیک بی2بی یا کسی دوسرے مناسب موڈ کے تحت تکنیکی اور مالی مدد فراہم کر سکتا ہے جبکہ زرعی تبدیلی کے منصوبے کے ذریعے تجویز کردہ ٹی کلسٹر اپروچ کو بھی لاگو کیا جا سکتا ہے۔
اس طرح پاکستان تجارتی بنیادوں پر اپنی گھریلو چائے سے لطف اندوز ہو سکتا ہے اور چائے کی درآمد پر غیر ملکی زرمبادلہ کے اخراجات کو کم یا ختم کر سکتا ہے۔
