Pakistan imposed a ban on travelers coming from India through land or air routes for the next 2 weeks, citing the spread of modified variant of coronavirus in the neighboring country
A statement issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said the decision was taken during a meeting of the forum today, presided over by Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar.
The forum was briefed about the spread of the new Indian variant of the coronavirus that is a double-mutant variant that was considered responsible for the recent surge in infections in the neighboring country.
"The forum decided to place India in the list of Category C countries for two weeks. There will be a ban on inbound passengers coming from India via air and land route," the statement said.

India has an approximate number of 273810 active coronavirus cases as recorded on Monday which means that the virus is still spreading. People coming to Pakistan from India might have the infection and can spread this latest variant of Corona Virus in Pakistan too.

نیشنل کمانڈ اینڈ آپریشن سنٹر (این سی او سی) کی طرف سے جاری ایک بیان میں کہا گیا ہے کہ یہ فیصلہ فورم کے اجلاس کے دوران کیا گیا ، جس کی صدارت وزیر منصوبہ بندی و ترقیات اسد عمر نے کی۔
فورم کو کورونا وائرس کی نئی قسم کے پھیلاؤ کے بارے میں بتایا گیا جسے پڑوسی ملک میں ہونے والے انفیکشن میں حالیہ اضافے کا ذمہ دار سمجھا جاتا ہے۔
بیان میں کہا گیا ہے ، "فورم نے دو ہفتوں کے لئے ہندوستان کو زمرہ سی ممالک کی فہرست میں رکھنے کا فیصلہ کیا۔ ہندوستان سے آنے والے مسافروں پر ہوائی اور زمینی راستے سے پابندی ہوگی۔"
پیر کے روز ریکارڈ کیے جانے والے فعال کورونا وائرس کیسوں کے مطابق بھارت میں تقریبا 273810 تعداد موجود ہے جس کا مطلب ہے کہ یہ وائرس اب بھی پھیل رہا ہے۔ ہندوستان سے پاکستان آنے والے لوگوں کو یہ انفیکشن ہوسکتا ہے اور وہ پاکستان میں بھی کورونا وائرس کا نیا ورژن کو پھیل سکتا ہے
