Pakistan Govt Approves Textile Policy to Lift Textile Industry

According to the news sources, while talking to media in Islamabad on Wednesday, Adviser on Commerce Razak Dawood said the federal cabinet approved the policy at its meeting yesterday.

The Adviser claimed that one of the policy’s main objectives is to give the textile industry an internationally competitive gas and electricity tariff.

According to the details, Razak Dawood said the government had reduced duties on the import of raw material in the budget and this tariff rationalization has been maintained in the policy. Similarly, he said, we will continue to provide financing facilities to the textile industry.

The Adviser said phenomenal growth is currently being witnessed in the textile sector. He said the textile exports are expected to touch twenty-one billion dollars by the end of this fiscal year as compared to the fifteen billion dollars last year. He said this is a twenty-six percent growth in the textile sector.

Razak Dawood also emphasized greater value addition and diversification of products to tap the country’s potential in textiles.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق بدھ کو اسلام آباد میں میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے مشیر تجارت رزاق داؤد نے کہا کہ وفاقی کابینہ نے گزشتہ روز اپنے اجلاس میں پالیسی کی منظوری دی۔
مشیر نے دعویٰ کیا کہ پالیسی کے بنیادی مقاصد میں سے ایک ٹیکسٹائل انڈسٹری کو بین الاقوامی سطح پر مسابقتی گیس اور بجلی کا ٹیرف دینا ہے۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق رزاق داؤد نے کہا کہ حکومت نے بجٹ میں خام مال کی درآمد پر ڈیوٹی کم کی تھی اور اس ٹیرف کو ریشنلائزیشن پالیسی میں برقرار رکھا گیا ہے۔ اسی طرح انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم ٹیکسٹائل انڈسٹری کو فنانسنگ کی سہولیات فراہم کرتے رہیں گے۔
مشیر نے کہا کہ اس وقت ٹیکسٹائل کے شعبے میں غیر معمولی ترقی دیکھی جا رہی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ رواں مالی سال کے اختتام تک ٹیکسٹائل کی برآمدات 21 ارب ڈالر تک پہنچنے کی توقع ہے جو گزشتہ سال کی پندرہ ارب ڈالر تھی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ ٹیکسٹائل سیکٹر میں چھبیس فیصد اضافہ ہے۔
رزاق داؤد نے ٹیکسٹائل میں ملک کی صلاحیتوں سے فائدہ اٹھانے کے لیے مصنوعات کی قدر میں اضافے اور تنوع پر بھی زور دیا۔
