Pakistan and Iraq signed an agreement to promote tourism

According to a statement from the Pakistani foreign office, The Iraqi cultural minister, Hassan Nadhem, and Islamabad's envoy to Baghdad, Ahmed Amjad Ali, signed a memorandum of understanding to promote and ease bilateral tourist collaboration.

According to the news sources, the MoU will promote and enable cooperation and collaboration in the field of tourism between the two brotherly countries. It will also help reinforce people-to-people linkages between Pakistan and Iraq. Pakistan is also engaging actively with the Iraqi side for the facilitation of Pakistani Zaireen to Iraq.

The signing of the MoU is another manifestation of the efforts of both countries to strengthen and diversify bilateral collaboration across diverse fields. It may be recalled that bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Iraq received a significant boost with a number of Ministerial-level visits exchanged last year, in particular the visit of Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, which was reciprocated by Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.

خبر رساں ذرائع کے مطابق یہ ایم او یو دونوں برادر ممالک کے درمیان سیاحت کے شعبے میں تعاون اور اشتراک کو فروغ دے گا۔ اس سے پاکستان اور عراق کے درمیان عوام سے عوام کے روابط کو مضبوط بنانے میں بھی مدد ملے گی۔ پاکستانی زائرین کو عراق میں سہولت فراہم کرنے کے لیے پاکستان عراقی فریق کے ساتھ بھی سرگرم عمل ہے۔
ایم او یو پر دستخط مختلف شعبوں میں دوطرفہ تعاون کو مضبوط اور متنوع بنانے کے لیے دونوں ممالک کی کوششوں کا ایک اور مظہر ہے۔ یاد رہے کہ پاکستان اور عراق کے درمیان دوطرفہ تعاون کو نمایاں فروغ ملا جس میں گزشتہ سال متعدد وزارتی سطح کے دوروں کا تبادلہ ہوا، خاص طور پر وزیر خارجہ مخدوم شاہ محمود قریشی کا دورہ جس کا جواب وزیر خارجہ فواد حسین نے دیا۔
