Ombudsman Punjab to take serious notice regarding cleanliness of Lahore

On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar, an important, and inclusive briefing regarding the performance of Lahore Waste Management Company, and its future plan was also held in the Office of Ombudsman Punjab.

The meeting was chaired by Ombudsman Punjab Maj (retd) Azam Suleman Khan. While Secretary Local Government Punjab Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, Commissioner Lahore Capt (retd) Usman, and CEO LWMC Rafia Haider briefed the Ombudsman Punjab regarding this matter.

Ombudsman Punjab, sometime ago, had taken a serious notice regarding the cleanliness situation in Lahore after he received many applications from the citizens.

In continuance to this notice, the second briefing was held in his office having detailed discussion about the future strategy of the company, and improvement plan about the disposal of waste.

On this occasion, all three participants briefed the Ombudsman Punjab that the company, and the Local Govt department, both are done with the hiring of 9000 professional sanitary workers.

933 vehicles will be added to the fleet of LWMC including 55 dumpers, 48 rickshaw tippers, 532 mini dumpers, 64 chain arm rolls, 27 tractors, 18 mechanical washers, 50 mechanical sweepers, and 139 compactors, as per the sources.
