Lahore: Chairman Task Force Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme said that not delivering housing facilities to the masses is not an option anymore, which is required for the country to progress in the right direction. Reported a news source.
Zaigham Rizvi, the Chairman of Taskforce informed that at the pace Pakistan’s population is increasing it requires around 750,000 to 800,000 houses each year. There has been a recorded estimate of around 12 million houses for middle and lower-class residents.
The second housing consultant informed that 55 percent of Karachi is comprised of slums. This situation would only become worse if the next government decide to shelve the current project.
He further informed that despite the situation in Punjab being better than Sindh, the housing development had still been slow due to the pandemic and the rising cost of the raw materials.

ٹاسک فورس کے چیئرمین ضیغم رضوی نے بتایا کہ جس رفتار سے پاکستان کی آبادی بڑھ رہی ہے اسے ہر سال 750,000 سے 800,000 گھروں کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے۔ متوسط اور نچلے طبقے کے رہائشیوں کے لیے تقریباً 12 ملین مکانات کا ریکارڈ تخمینہ لگایا گیا ہے۔
دوسرے ہاؤسنگ کنسلٹنٹ نے بتایا کہ کراچی کا 55 فیصد حصہ کچی آبادیوں پر مشتمل ہے۔ اگر اگلی حکومت موجودہ منصوبے کو روکنے کا فیصلہ کرتی ہے تو یہ صورتحال مزید خراب ہوگی۔
انہوں نے مزید بتایا کہ پنجاب کی صورتحال سندھ سے بہتر ہونے کے باوجود وبائی امراض اور خام مال کی بڑھتی ہوئی قیمتوں کی وجہ سے ہاؤسنگ ڈویلپمنٹ ابھی تک سست روی کا شکار ہے۔
