NHA continues to work on dualization of old Bannu Road

An official of NHA stated that the project was part of Indus Highway and the first package of the project, 40 kilometreDomail – Khurrum portion was awarded to the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) at the bid price of Rs 7.132 billion.

Its work started in February 2018 and so far about 26 percent of physical progress has been achieved mainly due to lack of funds availability, the official added.

He said its second package the 35 km Khurram-Krapa portion costing Rs 5.927 billion was awarded to the FWO.Its work had started in February 2018 and so far about 19 percent of physical progress has been achieved.

The third package of Old Bannu road, 8 kilometreGaandi Chowk – Sarai Naurang section was awarded to M/s NCC-IKAN-HRPL Joint Venture at the bid price of Rs 0.718 billion.

Work on the package also started in February 2018 and so far over 73 per cent physical progress of the project has been achieved.He further said that the existing road was single carriageway which was being dualized and improved.

He said the project would provide the heavy traffic movement on Indus Highway (N-55) with an alternate route thus sharing the traffic burden with Indus Highway.

The NHA official said that the development of infrastructure in the less developed areas would contribute to their economic uplift through accelerated trade activities

نیشنل ہائی وے اتھارٹی (این ایچ اے) صوبہ خیبر پختونخوا کے ضلع بنوں میں پرانا بنوں روڈ کے 83 کلومیٹر کے اپ گریڈیشن منصوبے پر کام کر رہی ہے۔

این ایچ اے کے ایک عہدیدار نے بتایا کہ یہ منصوبہ انڈس ہائی وے کا حصہ تھا اور اس منصوبے کا پہلا پیکیج ، 40 کلومیٹر طویل ڈومیل - خرم حصہ فرنٹیئر ورکس آرگنائزیشن (ایف ڈبلیو او) کو 7.132 ارب روپے کی قیمت پر دیا گیا تھا۔

عہدیدار نے مزید بتایا کہ اس کا کام فروری 2018 میں شروع ہوا تھا اور اب تک تقریبا 26 فیصد جسمانی پیشرفت بنیادی طور پر فنڈز کی عدم فراہمی کی وجہ سے حاصل کی گئی ہے۔

انہوں نے بتایا کہ اس کا دوسرا پیکیج 35 کلومیٹر خرم۔کراپا حصہ ہے جس کی لاگت 5.927 ارب روپے ہے جس کو ایف ڈبلیو او کو دیا گیا۔ اس کا کام فروری 2018 میں شروع ہوچکا تھا اور اب تک تقریبا 19 فیصد پیشرفت ہوچکی ہے۔

پرانی بنوں روڈ کا تیسرا پیکیج ، 8 کلومیٹر گانڈی چوک۔ سرائے نورنگ سیکشن نے میسرز این سی سی-اکیان - ایچ آر پی ایل جوائنٹ وینچر کو 0.718 ارب روپے کی بولی قیمت پر دیا۔

پیکیج پر کام فروری 2018 میں بھی شروع ہوا تھا اور اب تک اس منصوبے کی 73 فیصد سے زیادہ جسمانی پیشرفت ہوچکی ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ موجودہ روڈ سنگل کیریج وے تھی جس کو دہرایا اور بہتر بنایا جارہا تھا۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ اس منصوبے سے انڈس ہائی وے (این -55) پر ایک متبادل راستہ درآمد ہو گا جس سے ٹریفک کا بوجھ انڈس ہائی وے پر تقسیم ہوسکے گا۔

این ایچ اے کے عہدیدار نے کہا کہ کم ترقی یافتہ علاقوں میں بنیادی ڈھانچے کی ترقی تیزی سے تجارتی سرگرمیوں کے ذریعہ ان کی معاشی ترقی میں معاون ثابت ہوگی
