New walking trail to be developed in Shah Allah Ditta

The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) would develop a new walking trail near caves in Shah Allah Ditta to attract more local, and foreign tourists to this ancient site.

According to the details, the IWMB chairperson visited the ancient site and asked the concerned officials to prepare a plan to develop a walking trail. The beautiful site is part of the protected Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP) but at the moment there is no proper mechanism for patrolling to ensure its protection.

The IWMB will also put in place a new mechanism to carry out patrolling and keep vigil over those elements who are allegedly involved in grabbing forest areas of the national park.

It is pertinent to mention here that the 44-kilometer Margalla Ridge trail was inaugurated in November 2018 that stretches from Shah Allah Ditta to Summa, in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

A beautiful Shah Allah Ditta is a centuries-old village at the foothills of the Margallah hills and is considered one of the main attractions for tourists due to the 2,500-year-old Buddhist caves that are located next to the shrine of Hazrat Shah Allah Ditta, a Mughal-era-saint.

Currently, there is a caretaker of the caves whose grandfather was actually granted this responsibility from a Hindu family after participation in the sub-continent.

These caves also have religious significance for local people because the devotees often visit this place throughout the year.

اسلام آباد وائلڈ لائف مینجمنٹ بورڈ (آئی ڈبلیو ایم بی) شاہ اللہ دتہ میں غاروں کے قریب چلنے کا ایک نیا راستہ تیار کرے گا تاکہ زیادہ سے زیادہ مقامی اور غیر ملکی سیاحوں کو اس قدیم مقام کی طرف راغب کیا جا سکے۔

تفصیلات کے مطابق ، آئی ڈبلیو ایم بی کے چیئرپرسن نے قدیم مقام کا دورہ کیا اور متعلقہ حکام سے کہا کہ وہ پیدل چلنے کا راستہ تیار کریں۔ خوبصورت سائٹ محفوظ مارگلہ ہلز نیشنل پارک (MHNP) کا حصہ ہے لیکن اس وقت اس کے تحفظ کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے گشت کے لیے کوئی مناسب طریقہ کار موجود نہیں ہے۔

آئی ڈبلیو ایم بی پٹرولنگ کرنے اور ان عناصر پر نظر رکھنے کے لیے ایک نیا طریقہ کار بھی وضع کرے گا جو مبینہ طور پر نیشنل پارک کے جنگلاتی علاقوں پر قبضہ کرنے میں ملوث ہیں۔

یہاں یہ بات قابل ذکر ہے کہ 44 کلو میٹر مارگلہ رج ٹریل کا افتتاح نومبر 2018 میں کیا گیا تھا جو کہ شاہ اللہ دتہ سے لے کر سوما تک خیبر پختونخوا میں پھیلا ہوا ہے۔
ایک خوبصورت شاہ اللہ دتہ مارگلہ پہاڑیوں کے دامن میں ایک صدیوں پرانا گاؤں ہے اور 2500 سال پرانی بدھ غاروں کی وجہ سے سیاحوں کے لیے ایک پرکشش مقام سمجھا جاتا ہے جو حضرت شاہ اللہ دتہ کے مزار کے ساتھ واقع ہے-

فی الحال ، ان غاروں کا ایک نگہبان ہے جن کے دادا کو درحقیقت یہ ذمہ داری ایک ہندو خاندان کی طرف سے برصغیر میں شرکت کے بعد دی گئی تھی۔

یہ غاریں مقامی لوگوں کے لیے مذہبی اہمیت بھی رکھتی ہیں کیونکہ عقیدت مند اکثر سال بھر اس مقام پر آتے ہیں۔
