Naya Pakistan Housing Program And Its Ambition Of Building 5 Million Houses Hangs In Balance

Economic uncertainty within the country caused by political unrest has pushed the future of the developmental schemes including Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme in the dark. The society was aimed towards building around 5 million houses, to solve the lack of proper housing available in Pakistan.

The rising construction costs which include steel prices have also nearly doubled. The supply of the primary raw material for cement, coal has also severely been affected because of the intense demand for it.

The uncontrollable inflation within the country has caused the cost of raw materials to shoot up. During March, the cement sector dispatched more than 5 million tons of cement to domestic and foreign markets, the industry’s demand was still cut by 6 percent cumulatively since July.

سیاسی بے چینی کی وجہ سے ملک کے اندر معاشی بے یقینی نے نیا پاکستان ہاؤسنگ سکیم سمیت دیگر ترقیاتی سکیموں کے مستقبل کو تاریکیوں میں دھکیل دیا ہے۔ سوسائٹی کا مقصد تقریباً 50 لاکھ گھر تعمیر کرنا تھا، تاکہ پاکستان میں مناسب رہائش کی کمی کو دور کیا جا سکے۔
بڑھتی ہوئی تعمیراتی لاگت جس میں سٹیل کی قیمتیں بھی شامل ہیں تقریباً دگنی ہو گئی ہیں۔ سیمنٹ، کوئلے کے بنیادی خام مال کی سپلائی بھی اس کی شدید مانگ کی وجہ سے بری طرح متاثر ہوئی ہے۔
ملک میں بے قابو مہنگائی نے خام مال کی قیمتوں میں اضافہ کر دیا ہے۔ مارچ کے دوران سیمنٹ سیکٹر نے ملکی اور غیر ملکی منڈیوں میں 50 لاکھ ٹن سے زیادہ سیمنٹ روانہ کیا، جولائی سے اب تک صنعت کی طلب میں مجموعی طور پر 6 فیصد کمی تھی۔
