Moot on hydropower development begins today

According to the news sources, in a tweet on Sunday, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said the dam experts from the United States, Australia, Switzerland, Turkey, and China will participate in the Symposium.

According to the details, the symposium would be held in the PM Office auditorium and addressed by the President International Commission on Large Dams, besides the federal minister on water resources and Wapda chairman.

He said the symposium is aimed at showcasing the high-end technical and financial strategies for unprecedented hydropower and water storage development in Pakistan.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan is working tirelessly for the bright future of the coming generation producing cheaper electricity in the country. He said ten dams are being built after 1967 and production of power will rise from 9500 megawatts to 20800 after completion of these dams.

خبر رساں ذرائع کے مطابق اتوار کو ایک ٹویٹ میں وزیر مملکت برائے اطلاعات و نشریات فرخ حبیب نے کہا کہ سمپوزیم میں امریکہ، آسٹریلیا، سوئٹزرلینڈ، ترکی اور چین کے ڈیم ماہرین شرکت کریں گے۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق سمپوزیم وزیراعظم آفس کے آڈیٹوریم میں منعقد ہوگا جس سے صدر انٹرنیشنل کمیشن آن لارج ڈیمز کے علاوہ وفاقی وزیر برائے آبی وسائل اور چیئرمین واپڈا خطاب کریں گے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ سمپوزیم کا مقصد پاکستان میں ہائیڈرو پاور اور پانی ذخیرہ کرنے کی بے مثال ترقی کے لیے اعلیٰ درجے کی تکنیکی اور مالیاتی حکمت عملیوں کی نمائش کرنا ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ وزیراعظم عمران خان ملک میں سستی بجلی پیدا کرکے آنے والی نسل کے روشن مستقبل کے لیے انتھک محنت کر رہے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ 1967 کے بعد دس ڈیم بن رہے ہیں اور ان ڈیموں کی تکمیل کے بعد بجلی کی پیداوار 9500 میگاواٹ سے بڑھ کر 20800 تک پہ��چ جائے گی۔
