ML-1 Project is Backbone of the Economy: Railways Minister

According to the news sources, He said this while giving a detailed briefing to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Railways. The meeting of the Standing Committee on Railways was held under the Chairmanship of MNA Mr. Muhammad Moeen Wattoo in Islamabad to discuss the issues of the railway’s ministry.

According to the details, while briefing the committee, the minister informed that the PSDP for the year 2022-23 approved projects of Rs. 46.2 billion with ongoing projects of Rs. 37.750 billion and Rs. 18.450 billion for new projects. He said that currently, Rs. 10 billion have been allocated for the development of the ML-1 project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He further added that a second line would be built and constructed with a budget of $11 billion, and soon a financing agreement would be finalized with the Chinese and other multi-donor funds. He also requested the committee to utilize their role in the completion of the ML-1 project and sought the help of the committee in the execution of PSDP projects of the railways and ML-1 project.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق انہوں نے یہ بات قومی اسمبلی کی قائمہ کمیٹی برائے ریلوے کو تفصیلی بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے کہی۔ قائمہ کمیٹی برائے ریلوے کا اجلاس ایم این اے محمد معین وٹو کی زیر صدارت اسلام آباد میں منعقد ہوا جس میں وزارت ریلوے کے مسائل پر غور کیا گیا۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق کمیٹی کو بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے وزیر نے بتایا کہ پی ایس ڈی پی نے سال 2022-23 کے لیے 20 ارب روپے کے منصوبوں کی منظوری دی۔ 46.2 ارب روپے کے جاری منصوبوں کے ساتھ۔ 37.750 بلین اور روپے نئے منصوبوں کے لیے 18.450 بلین۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ فی الحال روپے چین پاکستان اقتصادی راہداری (سی پیک) کے تحت (ایم ایل-1) منصوبے کی ترقی کے لیے 10 ارب روپے مختص کیے گئے ہیں۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ 11 بلین ڈالر کے بجٹ سے ایک دوسری لائن تعمیر کی جائے گی، اور جلد ہی چینی اور دیگر کثیر عطیہ دہندگان کے ساتھ مالیاتی معاہدے کو حتمی شکل دی جائے گی۔ انہوں نے کمیٹی سے ایم ایل ون منصوبے کی تکمیل میں اپنا کردار بروئے کار لانے کی بھی درخواست کی اور ریلوے کے پی ایس ڈی پی منصوبوں اور ایم ایل ون منصوبے کی تکمیل میں کمیٹی سے مدد طلب کی۔
