Islamabad: Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar; the Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Reforms has confirmed that the Gwadar Master Plan is going to be finalized soon and it will be submitted before the cabinet for final approval.
Makhdoom Bakhtiar has expressed his views during a meeting of Steering Committee in this crucial matter. The meeting was held for a precise review of Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan.
The Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Reforms highlighted the master plan as a major milestone pacing towards the inclusivity and sustainability of Gwadar as a coastal city. He further reiterated the government’s commitment towards the protection of the rights of the local people of the Gwadar as well.
In February, the concerned stakeholders of the Gwadar project gave their approval for Gwadar Master Plan acing towards the development and growth of the city. Projects such as Gwadar International Airport, the establishment of the international standard hospital, power plant and foundation of vocational institutions are planned to be made in Gwadar city.
Minister Bakhtiar has mentioned that the Gwadar Port City is going to bring a tremendous amount of improvements in the socio-economic conditions of the people living in Baluchistan province. He further added that the scope of the trade activities at the port will be facilitating to help the entire region.
Federal Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar told the news sources that the concerned authorities already drafted Gwadar’s Master Plan back in January 2019. As per the blueprints, an area of 310.62 sq. km. is scheduled to be developed.
A total area of 1201.15 sq. km. has been planned for the development that has been divided into three categories. This includes a developmental area, a restricted area and an area that would be solely reserved for other uses.
The federal minister has appreciated the keen efforts made by Fourth Harbor Design Institute for providing proper assistance on the Gwadar Master Plan. The institution has efficaciously incorporated the recommendations with respect to the policy framework as well as the land to be used in the proposed plan of development.
