Multan: The Multan Development Authority (MDA) has invited the private sector to invest in joint ventures in partnership with MDA to launch new housing projects, as reported by the news sources.
Director General (DG) MDA Agha Muhammad Ali Waseem addressed a gathering of industrialists and businessmen at Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) and said that the private sector has the choice to either invest in land acquisition and MDA will invest in the development, or it could be vice versa.
Agha said that cases that were part of the backlog due to laws and rules during last two to three decades were finalized after simplifying laws and rules for convenience of the people.
He further added that there are 260 illegal colonies in Multan under MDA’s jurisdiction. However, the MDA has sent proposals to the Chief Minister Punjab for amendments in MDA rules. If the amendments are approved by the CM Punjab, around 60 to 70 of the 260 illegal colonies would become legal.
The DG MDA sought proposals from the industrialists and businessmen on amendments in the bylaws and rules and added that he wanted to set up a help desk at MCCI to help resolve issues of the business community at the earliest.

ڈائریکٹر جنرل (ڈی جی) ایم ڈی اے آغا محمد علی وسیم نے ملتان چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری (ایم سی سی آئی) میں صنعتکاروں اور تاجروں کے ایک اجتماع سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ نجی شعبے کو یا تو اراضی کے حصول میں سرمایہ کاری کرنے کا انتخاب ہے اور ایم ڈی اے ترقی پر سرمایہ کاری کرے گا ، یا اس کے برعکس ہوسکتا ہے۔
آغا ن�� کہا کہ گذشتہ دو سے تین دہائیوں کے دوران قوانین اور قواعد کی وجہ سے پائے جانے والے معاملات کو لوگوں کی سہولت کے لئے قوانین اور قواعد کو آسان بنانے کے بعد حتمی شکل دی گئی۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ ملتان میں ایم ڈی اے کے دائرہ اختیار میں 260 غیر قانونی کالونیاں ہیں۔ تاہم ، ایم ڈی اے نے وزیر اعلی پنجاب کو ایم ڈی اے قواعد میں ترامیم کے لئے تجاویز بھیج دی ہیں۔ اگر ان ترامیم کو وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب نے منظور کرلیا تو 260 غیرقانونی کالونیوں میں سے 60 سے 70 کے قریب قانونی ہوجائیں گی۔
ڈی جی ایم ڈی اے نے صنعتکاروں اور تاجروں سے ضمنی قوانین اور قواعد میں ترمیم کے بارے میں تجاویز طلب کی اور مزید کہا کہ وہ جلد ہی کاروباری برادری کے مسائل حل کرنے میں مدد کے لئے ایم سی سی آئی میں ایک ہیلپ ڈیسک قائم کرنا چاہتے ہیں۔
