MDA shares numbers of illegal housing schemes in Multan

As a result of a survey conducted by the development authority of the city of saints, the total housing schemes in Multan is 200. Out of these, only 18 have acquired their approvals from the authority while 182 have been declared as illegal. The survey also highlighted that these societies were owned by influential people.

The officials of MDA also told the news sources that the information regarding these housing societies has been shared with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). However, no action has been taken so far by the NAB.

The survey was conducted by the MDA after reportedly receiving orders from the court to launch a crackdown against these societies. The MDA Director General (DG) Agha Muhammad Ali said that FIRs will also be lodged against the developers of these illegal housing societies.

ایم ڈی اے کے عہدیداروں نے نیوز ذرائع کو یہ بھی بتایا کہ ان ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں سے متعلق معلومات کو قومی احتساب بیورو (نیب) کے ساتھ شیئر کیا گیا ہے۔ تاہم نیب کی جانب سے اب تک کوئی کارروائی نہیں کی گئی ہے۔

یہ سروے ایم ڈی اے نے ان سوسائٹیوں کے خلاف کریک ڈاؤن شروع کرنے کے لئے عدالت کی جانب سے مبینہ طور پر احکامات موصول ہونے کے بعد کیا تھا۔ ایم ڈی اے کے ڈائریکٹر جنرل (ڈی جی) آغا محمد علی نے کہا کہ ان غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں کے مالکان کے خلاف بھی ایف آئی آر درج کی جائے گی۔
