LHC declares PM Imran's River Ravi project illegal

According to the news sources, in its decision on petitions against the Ravi River Urban Project which was launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan, Justice Shahid Karim ruled that the schemes without a master plan are unlawful.

According to the details, the court mentioned that the agricultural land could only be learned by following the relevant law, adding that, in this case, the 1894 law was violated. The master plan of the Ravi Urban Development Amendment was organized without consulting the local administration.

Last year in November, the court stopped the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) from acquiring more land for its flagship project till further orders as farmers challenged the Land Act of 1894.

Justice Karim remarked that since RRUDP's master plan is the basic document, all the schemes should be under the master plan. Meanwhile, the court directed the Authority to return the money it had acquired from the government within two months.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق وزیراعظم عمران خان کی جانب سے شروع کیے گئے دریائے راوی اربن پراجیکٹ کے خلاف درخواستوں پر اپنے فیصلے میں جسٹس شاہد کریم نے فیصلہ سناتے ہوئے کہا کہ بغیر ماسٹر پلان کے منصوبے غیر قانونی ہیں۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق عدالت نے کہا کہ زرعی اراضی متعلقہ قانون پر عمل کرکے ہی سیکھی جاسکتی ہے، اس کیس میں 1894 کے قانون کی خلاف ورزی کی گئی۔ راوی اربن ڈیولپمنٹ ترمیم کا ماسٹر پلان مقامی انتظامیہ کی مشاورت کے بغیر ترتیب دیا گیا۔
پچھلے سال نومبر میں، عدالت نے راوی اربن ڈیولپمنٹ اتھارٹی (آر یو ڈی اے) کو ا��لے احکامات تک اپنے فلیگ شپ پروجیکٹ کے لیے مزید زمین حاصل کرنے سے روک دیا کیونکہ کسانوں نے 1894 کے لینڈ ایکٹ کو چیلنج کیا تھا۔
جسٹس کریم نے ریمارکس دیئے کہ چونکہ آر آر یو ڈی پی کا ماسٹر پلان بنیادی دستاویز ہے اس لیے تمام اسکیمیں ماسٹر پلان کے تحت ہونی چاہئیں۔ دریں اثنا، عدالت نے اتھارٹی کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ حکومت سے حاصل کی گئی رقم دو ماہ کے اندر واپس کرے۔
