LDA to Ban Misleading Ads of Societies on Social Media

They mentioned in a written communique that various illegal private housing societies are advertising and promoting their projects as well as schemes through social media campaigns.

The city developer has quoted that certain illegal projects are highlighted through advertisements via Whatsapp, SMS, YouTube, and Facebook Campaigns.

These sponsors show an attractive side of the project by portraying it well, without considering the physical and legal status of their projects. This results in the illegal sale and purchase of files or plots in these illegal housing societies.

According to the common complaints the authority received, huge publicity over a mass scale and social media advertisement play the role of the motivating factor in transactions related to these illegal schemes.

LDA has pointed out the rule Rule-45 of the LDA Private Housing Rules of 2014 according to which the sponsor will not initiate the publicity of the scheme or subdivision, also a sale of plots without no objection certificate (NOC) given by LDA.

While the sponsors are selling commercial and residential plots without NOC which makes these schemes, illegal. Furthermore, they have no approved plan and development works following the law.

LDA has approached the telecom regulator for imposing a strict ban over these unauthorized advertisements of housing schemes over the social media forums.

لاہور: لاہور ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (ایل ڈی اے) نے پاکستان ٹیلی مواصلات اتھارٹی (پی ٹی اے) سے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ وہ لاہور میں غیر منظور شدہ یا غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں کے سوشل میڈیا اشتہاروں پر پابندی عائد کرے۔

انہوں نے ایک تحریری گفتگو میں بتایا کہ متعدد غیر قانونی نجی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹییں سوشل میڈیا مہموں کے ذریعے اپنے منصوبوں کے ساتھ ساتھ اسکیموں کی تشہیر اور تشہیر کررہی ہیں۔

شہر کے ڈویلپر نے نقل کیا ہے کہ کچھ غیر قانونی منصوبوں کو واٹس ایپ ، ایس ایم ایس ، یوٹیوب ، اور فیس بک کمپین کے ذریعے اشتہارات کے ذریعے اجاگر کیا جاتا ہے۔

یہ کفیل اپنے پروجیکٹس کی جسمانی اور قانونی حیثیت پر غور کیے بغیر ، اس کو اچھی طرح سے پیش کرتے ہوئے اس پروجیکٹ کا پرکشش رخ دکھاتے ہیں۔ اس کے نتیجے میں ان غیرقانونی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں میں فائلوں یا پلاٹوں کی غیر قانونی فروخت اور خریداری ہوئی ہے۔

اتھارٹی کو ملنے والی عام شکایات کے مطابق ، بڑے پیمانے پر بڑے پیمانے پر تشہیر اور سوشل میڈیا اشتہار ان غیر قانونی اسکیموں سے متعلق لین دین میں محرک عنصر کا کردار ادا کرتے ہیں۔

ایل ڈی اے نے 2014 کے ایل ڈی اے پرائیویٹ ہاؤسنگ قواعد کے ضابطہ نمبر 45 کی نشاندہی کی ہے جس کے مطابق کفیل اس اسکیم یا سب ڈویژن کی تشہیر نہیں کرے گا ، ایل ڈی اے کے ذریعہ دیئے گئے بغیر کسی اعتراض سرٹیفکیٹ (این او سی) کے پلاٹوں کی فروخت بھی ہوگی۔

جبکہ کفیل غیر تجارتی اور رہائشی پلاٹوں کو این او سی کے بغیر فروخت کررہے ہیں جو ان اسکیموں کو غیر قانونی بنا دیتے ہیں۔ مزید یہ کہ قانون کے مطابق ان کے پاس کوئی منظور شدہ منصوبہ اور ترقیاتی کام نہیں ہیں۔

ایل ڈی اے نے سوشل میڈیا فورمز پر ہاؤسنگ اسکیموں کے ان غیر مجاز اشتہاروں پر سخت پابندی عائد کرنے کے لئے ٹیلی کام ریگولیٹر سے رجوع کیا ہے۔
