LDA devises plans to solve traffic problems

Commissioner Lahore Capt (retd) Muhammad Usman held a meeting in this regard, in which Director General LDA Ahmed Aziz Tarar gave a briefing to the Commissioner regarding the solution of increasing traffic problems in the city, and development projects under LDA.

The projects of Sheranwala Gate Flyover, Gulab Devi Underpass, Shahkam Chowk Flyover, and other projects were discussed in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Lahore said that LDA has formulated the best alternative plan for traffic flow for Sheranwala Gate Flyover and other projects.

Commissioner Lahore said that the condition of roads under Sheranwala Gate Flyover should also be improved, and timely completion of projects was essential to solve traffic problems.

DG LDA Ahmed Aziz Tarar said that an integrated alternative traffic plan has been prepared before starting the projects.

He said land acquisition for the construction of Sheranwala Gate Flyover was underway and more than 22 kanals of land will be acquired for this project. He claimed that the Sheranwala Gate project will be completed in a short span of ten months.

DG LDA said that the reconstruction of the Gulab Devi underpass would be completed in a short span of nine months. ‘Gulab Devi underpass will be 600 meters long and have two lanes and an excellent drainage system,’ he said.

DG LDA further said that work on many important projects of the city was underway and many were in the pipeline. Traffic problems were high at Shahkam Chowk where three important roads met i.e. Canal Road, Defense Road, and Multan Ro

لاہور: لاہور ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (ایل ڈی اے) نے لاہور میں ٹریفک کے بڑھتے ہوئے مسائل پر قابو پانے کے لئے متعدد نئے ترقیاتی منصوبوں کا تصور کیا ہے۔

کمشنر لاہور کیپٹن (ر) محمد عثمان نے اس سلسلے میں ایک میٹنگ کی ، جس میں ڈائریکٹر جنرل ایل ڈی اے احمد عزیز تارڑ نے کمشنر کو شہر میں ٹریفک کے بڑھتے ہوئے مسائل کے حل ، اور ایل ڈی اے کے تحت ترقیاتی منصوبوں کے بارے میں بریفنگ دی۔

اجلاس میں شیرانوالہ گیٹ فلائی اوور ، گلاب دیوی انڈر پاس ، شاہکم چوک فلائی اوور کے دیگر منصوبوں پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔

اجلاس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کمشنر لاہور نے کہا کہ ایل ڈی اے نے شیرانوالہ گیٹ فلائی اوور اور دیگر منصوبوں کے لئے ٹریفک کی روانی کے لئے بہترین متبادل منصوبہ مرتب کیا ہے۔

کمشنر لاہور نے کہا کہ شیرانوالہ گیٹ فلائی اوور کے تحت سڑکوں کی حالت کو بھی بہتر بنانا چاہئے ، اور ٹریفک کے مسائل حل کرنے کے لئے منصوبوں کی بروقت تکمیل ضروری ہے۔

ڈی جی ایل ڈی اے احمد عزیز تارڑ نے بتایا کہ منصوبے شروع کرنے سے پہلے ایک مربوط متبادل ٹریفک پلان تیار کیا گیا ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ شیرانوالہ گیٹ فلائی اوور کی تعمیر کے لئے اراضی پر قبضہ جاری ہے اور اس منصوبے کے لئے 22 کنال سے زیادہ اراضی حاصل کی جائے گی۔ انہوں نے دعوی کیا کہ شیرانوالہ گیٹ منصوبہ دس ماہ کی قلیل مدت میں مکمل ہوجائے گا۔

ڈی جی ایل ڈی اے نے بتایا کہ گلاب دیوی انڈر پاس کی تعمیر نو نو ماہ کے قلیل عرصہ میں مکمل ہوجائے گی۔ انہوں نے کہا ، ‘گلاب دیوی انڈر پاس 600 میٹر لمبا ہوگا اور اس میں دو لین اور نکاسی آب کا ایک عمدہ نظام ہوگا۔

ڈی جی ایل ڈی اے کا مزید کہنا ہے کہ شہر کے بہت سے اہم منصوبوں پر کام جاری ہے اور بہت سے پائپ لائن میں تھے۔ شاہکم چوک پر ٹریفک کے مسائل زیادہ تھے جہاں تین اہم سڑکیں مل گئیں یعنی کینال روڈ ، ڈیفنس روڈ ، اور ملتان روڈ۔
