LAHORE: Khurram Dastgir Khan, Pakistan's Minister of Energy (Power Division), on Saturday began work on two massive projects to build new grid stations. (Reported by news source)
The power blackout that occurred in the Southern region of the country last week was controlled by the cascade mechanism implemented at the Lahore-Matiari transmission line and was resolved within 24 hours.
Dastgir claimed that tube wells would also be powered by the grid stations close to Sheikhupura after they were finished in 630 days.
The goal is to build the infrastructure necessary for the nation's development, and these grid stations will be crucial to achieving that goal.
Electricity will be produced using domestic resources, such as solar, hydel, wind, nuclear, and coal, according to the federal minister. Within a year, the coal will provide 2000 megawatts of electricity to the grid.
According to Dastgir, the National Transmission & Dispatch Company (NTDC) is working on these two projects to lower system and line losses and raise the Lahore Electric Supply Company's voltage profile.
