Kyrgyzstan wants to join CPEC: Envoy

During the seminar on ‘Business, Education and Tourism Opportunities in Kyrgyzstan,’ Ambassador of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan Ulanbek Totuiaev stated that. This seminar is organized by the Diplomatic Insight, Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, Riphah Institute of Public Policy, Riphah International University, here on Tuesday.

According to the news sources, the ambassador emphasized the strong Kyrgyz-Pakistani relations saying they are traditionally characterized as fraternal and friendly. He said the relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan have been marked by active mutual contacts and two-sided events. He further added that Pakistan was among the first to accept the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic.

"Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, our countries enjoy excellent political relations and regular discussion visits on the maximum levels. During the last 30 years, our countries exchanged presidential visits twice, Kyrgyz prime ministers visited Pakistan twice, Pakistani prime ministers came to Kyrgyzstan four times and speakers of the Kyrgyz parliament visited Pakistan twice," he added.

The envoy also said that Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev will arrive in Islamabad on December 15 to participate in the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers on December 16-17.

He also added, Kyrgyzstan is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its independence this year. “During the last 30 years, Kyrgyzstan has gradually and peacefully developed on the way to democracy and freedom. At this time, Kyrgyzstan is passing through a significant period of political changes. Presidential elections held in January, this year, resulted in the victory of former Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov, who became a new head of state."

During the seminar, the ambassador said the geo-strategic position of Kyrgyzstan at the intersection between Central Asia and China and further through the Karakoram Pass to Pakistan opened up excellent opportunities in this way for regional trade and economic cooperation, as well as establishing ties in all areas of mutual interest.

He further added, trade and economic cooperation were facing low and do not correspond to the potential of the two countries.

"Our country is systematically developing toward the expansion of the economy, where foreign investors are widely represented, including from Pakistan. Investing in the Kyrgyz Republic is lucrative and easy as the main factors are the generous trade regime, full protection of investments, and unlimited return of profits, as well as currency exchange freedom, low business costs, an educated workforce, and direct access to state powers.

سفیر نے پاکستان اور کرغزستان کے مضبوط تعلقات پر روشنی ڈالتے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ روایتی طور پر برادرانہ اور دوستانہ ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ دونوں ممالک کے درمیان تعلقات فعال باہمی رابطوں اور دو طرفہ واقعات سے نمایاں ہیں۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ پاکستان کرغز جمہوریہ کی آزادی کو تسلیم کرنے والے اولین ممالک میں شامل ہے۔
سفارتی تعلقات کے قیام کے بعد سے، ہمارے ممالک بہترین سیاسی تعلقات سے لطف اندوز ہوتے ہیں اور باقاعدگی سے اعلیٰ سطح پر دوروں کا تبادلہ کرتے ہیں۔ گزشتہ 30 سالوں کے دوران ہمارے ممالک نے دو بار صدارتی دوروں کا تبادلہ کیا، کرغزستان کے وزرائے اعظم نے دو بار پاکستان کا دورہ کیا، پاکستانی وزرائے اعظم نے چار بار کرغزستان کا دورہ کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کرغیز پارلیمنٹ کے کئی بار اور سپیکرز نے دو بار پاکستان کا دورہ کیا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ کرغزستان کے وزیر خارجہ رسلان قازاک بائیف 15 دسمبر کو اسلام آباد پہنچیں گے جہاں وہ 16 سے 17 دسمبر کو ہونے والے او آئی سی کی وزرائے خارجہ کونسل کے غیر معمولی اجلاس میں شرکت کریں گے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ کرغزستان اس سال اپنی آزادی کی 30ویں سالگرہ منا رہا ہے۔"گزشتہ 30 سالوں کے دوران، کرغزستان نے جمہوریت اور آزادی کے راستے پر مستقل اور پرامن طور پر ترقی کی ہے۔ اس وقت، کرغزستان سیاسی تبدیلیوں کے ایک اہم دور سے گزر رہا ہے۔ اس سال جنوری میں ہونے والے صدارتی انتخابات کے نتیجے میں سابق وزیر اعظم کی جیت ہوئی۔ وزیر سدیر زاپروف، جو نئے سربراہ مملکت بنے۔"
سفیر نے کہا کہ وسطی ایشیا اور چین کے درمیان سنگم پر کرغزستان کی جغرافیائی سٹریٹجک پوزیشن اور آگے قراقرم پاس کے ذریعے پاکستان تک علاقائی تجارت اور اقتصادی تعاون کے ساتھ ساتھ باہمی دلچسپی کے تمام شعبوں میں روابط قائم کرنے کے بہترین مواقع کھلے ہیں۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ دوطرفہ تجارتی اور اقتصادی تعاون اس وقت کم ہے اور دونوں ممالک کی صلاحیتوں سے مطابقت نہیں رکھتا۔
