KCR And M-6 Approved By P3A

During the 22^nd meeting of the P3A board chaired by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Dr. Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, both of these projects were approved. Last month the construction of M-6 had also been approved at the cost of Rs307billion which was a project proposal of a bidder.

M-6 would be a 306km six-lane green-field facility proposed to be built on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. The concession period for the project is 25 years, which includes 30 months construction period and six months financial close period. After the completion, the commuters would be able to travel from Karachi to the upcountry via motorway.

KCR project was also approved by ECNEC at a cost of Rs201 billion. KCR envisages the construction of a 43km modern mass urban rail transit project proposed to be built on a PPP basis. It would likely revamp the public transportation system of the metropolitan city of Karachi.

The planning commission declared both these projects as an important part of the Sindh development package.

اسلام آباد: سکھر-حیدرآباد موٹروے، ایم6 کو پبلک پرائیویٹ پارٹنرشپ اتھارٹی (پی 3 اے) اور کراچی سرکلر ریلوے نے بھی منظوری دے دی ہے، خبر ذرائع نے رپورٹ کیا۔

پلاننگ کمیشن کے ڈپٹی چیئرمین ڈاکٹر محمد جہانزیب خان کی زیر صدارت پی 3 اے بورڈ کے 22ویں اجلاس کے دوران ان دونوں منصوبوں کی منظوری دی گئی۔ گزشتہ ماہ ایم-6 کی تعمیر کی بھی 307 ارب روپے کی لاگت سے منظوری دی گئی تھی جو کہ ایک بولی دہندہ کی تجویز تھی۔

ایم-6 ایک 306 کلومیٹر کی چھ لین والی گرین فیلڈ سہولت ہوگی جسے بلڈ آپریٹ ٹرانسفر (بی او ٹی) کی بنیاد پر تعمیر کرنے کی تجویز ہے۔ منصوبے کے لیے رعایتی مدت 25 سال ہے، جس میں 30 ماہ کی تعمیراتی مدت اور چھ ماہ کی مالیاتی قریبی مدت شامل ہے۔ اس کی تکمیل کے بعد مسافر موٹر وے کے ذریعے کراچی سے اوپر والے ملک تک سفر کر سکیں گے۔

کے سی آر پراجیکٹ کی بھی 201 ارب روپے کی لاگت سے ایکنک نے منظوری دی۔ کے سی آر نے پی پی پی کی بنیاد پر 43 کلومیٹر کے جدید ماس اربن ریل ٹرانزٹ پروجیکٹ کی تعمیر کا تصور کیا ہے۔ یہ ممکنہ طور پر میٹروپولیٹن شہر کراچی کے پبلک ٹرانسپورٹ سسٹم کو بہتر بنائے گا۔
پلاننگ کمیشن نے ان دونوں منصوبوں کو سندھ ترقیاتی پیکج کا اہم حصہ قرار دیا۔
