Karachi administrator announces low-cost housing scheme

According to the news sources, while presiding at the meeting on Wednesday Karachi administrator Murtaza Wahab said that” keeping in view of the rising inflation, a low-cost housing scheme would be introduced for the citizens under a public-private partnership ‘’

Orangi Town project director had been directed to survey a piece of land for the scheme, Wahab said, adding that the provincial government was taking steps to provide housing facilities to people as per the vision of the Pakistan Peoples Party.

According to the details, he further added that people were worried about inflation and need a place to live, and the low-cost housing scheme would provide housing facilities to the low-income group.

Apart from Orangi Town, other places in Karachi would also be surveyed by the land department for the identification of suitable places for setting up similar housing schemes, he added. “Every effort will be made to ensure that these schemes meet the needs of the low-income group and improve their quality of life.”

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق بدھ کو اجلاس کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے کراچی کے ایڈمنسٹریٹر مرتضیٰ وہاب کا کہنا تھا کہ ’’بڑھتی ہوئی مہنگائی کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے پبلک پرائیویٹ پارٹنرشپ کے تحت شہریوں کے لیے کم لاگت ہاؤسنگ اسکیم متعارف کرائی جائے گی۔‘‘
وہاب نے کہا کہ اورنگی ٹاؤن کے پروجیکٹ ڈائریکٹر کو اسکیم کے لیے زمین کے ایک ٹکڑے کا سروے کرنے کی ہدایت کی گئی تھی، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ صوبائی حکومت پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی کے وژن کے مطابق لوگوں کو رہائش کی سہولیات فراہم کرنے کے لیے اقدامات کر رہی ہے۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ لوگ مہنگائی سے پریشان ہیں اور رہنے کے لیے جگہ کی ضرورت ہے، کم لاگت ہاؤسنگ اسکیم سے کم آمدنی والے طبقے کو رہائش کی سہولت میسر آئے گی۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ اورنگی ٹاؤن کے علاوہ کراچی کے دیگر مقامات کا بھی محکمہ لینڈ کی جانب سے سروے کیا جائے گا تاکہ ایسی ہی ہاؤسنگ اسکیموں کے قیام کے لیے موزوں جگہوں کی نشاندہی کی جا سکے۔ "اس بات کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے ہر ممکن کوشش کی جائے گی کہ یہ اسکیمیں کم آمدنی والے گروپ کی ضروریات کو پورا کریں اور ان کے معیار زندگی کو بہتر بنائیں۔"
