Kallar Kahar Museum to increase tourism

Advisor to Chief Minister on Tourism and PHDA Asif Mahmood said that Kallar Kahar has huge tourism potential tourism and the opening of Kallar Kahar Museum will increase tourist flux in the area.

This was stated by him speaking on the occasion of inaugurating the Kallar Kahar Museum on Monday.

Secretary Tourism Ehsan Bhutta, DG Archaeology Ilyas Gill and other officers concerned were present on the occasion.

Asif Mehmood further stated that the Punjab government intends to set up museums at major tourist sites across the province in the near future.

DG Archaeology Ilyas Gill said that the construction of the Kallar Kahar Museum had commenced in 2008-09.

The project faced numerous delays due to the non-recruitment of staff. Now essential staff has been appointed and after the inauguration, the museum is open for the general public to visit.

Three galleries have been established in the museum. Moreover, office accommodation, as well as residences for officers and staff, is also provided.

This museum will provide information about the history to the visitors. Secretary Tourism Ehsan Bhutta said that three galleries namely “Fossils Gallery”, “Indus &Gandhara Gallery” and “Miscellaneous Gallery” have been established. Fossils displayed in the museum relate to millions of years old.

Similarly, items displayed in Indus &Gandhara Galleries relate to 7000BC to 1500BC, pre and protohistoric, and 1st Century AD to 7th Century AD. The collection of coins ranges from the 5th Century BC to today.

مشیر وزیر اعلی برائے سیاحت اور پی ایچ ڈی اے آصف محمود نے کہا کہ کلر کہار میں سیاحت کا بڑا امکان ہے اور کلر کہار میوزیم کے افتتاح سے علاقے میں سیاحوں کی دلچسپی بڑھ جائے گی۔

یہ بات انہوں نے پیر کو کلر کہار میوزیم کے افتتاح کے موقع پر خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہی۔

اس موقع پر سکریٹری سیاحت احسان بھٹہ ، ڈی جی آثار قدیمہ الیاس گل اور دیگر متعلقہ افسران موجود تھے۔

آصف محمود نے مزید بتایا کہ پنجاب حکومت مستقبل میں صوبے بھر کے بڑے سیاحتی مقامات پر عجائب گھر قائم کرنے کا ارادہ رکھتی ہے۔

ڈی جی آثار قدیمہ الیاس گل نے بتایا کہ کالر کہار میوزیم کی تعمیر کا کام سن 2008-09 میں شروع ہوا تھا۔

عملے کی بھرتی نہ ہونے کی وجہ سے پروجیکٹ کو متعدد تاخیر کا سامنا کرنا پڑا۔ اب ضروری عملہ مقرر کردیا گیا ہے اور افتتاح کے بعد ، میوزیم عام لوگوں کے دورے کے لئے کھول دیا جائے گا۔

میوزیم میں تین گیلریوں کا قیام عمل میں لایا گیا ہے۔ مزید برآں ، دفتر میں رہائش کے ساتھ ساتھ افسران اور عملہ کے لئے رہائش بھی مہیا کی جائے ہے۔

یہ میوزیم زائرین کو تاریخ کے بارے میں معلومات فراہم کرے گا۔ سکریٹری سیاحت احسان بھٹہ نے بتایا کہ "فوسیل گیلری" ، "انڈس اینڈ گندھارا گیلری" اور "متفرقے گیلری" نامی تین گیلریاں بنائی جائیں گی۔

میوزیم میں دکھائے جانے والے فوسل کا تعلق لاکھوں سال پرانا ہے۔

اسی طرح ، انڈس اور گندھارا گیلریوں میں دکھائے جانے والے اشیاء کا تعلق 7000 بی سی سے 1500 بی بی سے ہے ، جو تاریخی اور پہلی صدی عیسوی سے ساتویں صدی عیسوی کے پیش نظارہ ہے۔
