Islamabad: Italian Ambassador to Pakistan Stefano Pontecorvo said that the Italian government is planning to invest 40 million euros for the youth development across Pakistan. According to the news sources, the ambassador was attending the inauguration ceremony organized as a part of the week-long Program for Poverty Reduction (PPR) in collaboration with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.
During the meeting, Pontecorvo said, “65% of Pakistan’s population is under 35 and there is immense potential in the youth. Italy hopes to invest more in youth development policies to empower the future of the country.”
As a part of this program, youth across Pakistan would be empowered through training for communities based in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other regional areas to uplift the socio-economic conditions.
The ceremony was also attended by EmanuelaBenini, Director Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Pakistan, Simi Kamal, Head of Programmes PPAF, and Qazi Azmat Isa, CEO PPAF.
