Industrial & business development top priority of govt: Farrukh Habib

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said that industrial and business development is the top priority of the government and in this connection, all available resources were being utilized for sustainable growth and increase in national exports.

Addressing the annual general meeting of All Pakistan Bed-sheets and Upholstery Manufacturers Association (APBUMA) at a local hotel here, he said that all stakeholders of the textile sector brought laurel for Pakistan at the global level.

He said that the coronavirus pandemic had badly jolted the world. The global economy squeezed but due to prudent policies of the PTI government, economic and business activities flourished as Prime Minister Imran Khan preferred smart lockdown despite a lot of pressure from the opposition.

He said that during the coronavirus pandemic exports of India and Bangladesh lagged behind but our exports increased and Pakistani GDP witnessed 4.5 percent growth as the Prime Minister took necessary steps to keep the industrial wheel running in the country.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was the only leader who had the ability to look beyond the wall. He realized well before the time that the lives of poor laborers and daily wage earners would be further miserable if we closed our businesses. Farrukh Habib said that we were not in favor of temporary growth.

Our focus was on the sustainable growth of the economy and we were moving towards this target gradually. We were increasing productivity and capacity and were reluctant to run everything on the credit card system.

He said that foreign remittances were also a big source of economic sustainability and in this connection, overseas Pakistan had sent 30 billion dollars to Pakistan this year and we were trying to increase this amount up to a 35-billion-dollar next year.

وزیر مملکت برائے اطلاعات و نشریات فرخ حبیب نے کہا کہ صنعتی اور کاروباری ترقی حکومت کی اولین ترجیح ہے اور اس سلسلے میں تمام دستیاب وسائل کو پائیدار ترقی اور قومی برآمدات میں اضافے کے لیے استعمال کیا جا رہا ہے۔

یہاں ایک مقامی ہوٹل میں آل پاکستان بیڈ شیٹس اور اپھولسٹری مینوفیکچررز ایسوسی ایشن (APBUMA) کے سالانہ عام اجلاس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ ٹیکسٹائل سیکٹر کے تمام سٹیک ہولڈرز عالمی سطح پر پاکستان کے لیے اعزاز لائے ہیں۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ کورونا وائرس کی وبا نے پوری دنیا کو ہلا کر رکھ دیا ہے۔ عالمی معیشت ڈوب گئی لیکن پی ٹی آئی حکومت کی دانشمندانہ پالیسیوں کی وجہ سے معاشی اور کاروباری سرگرمیاں پھل پھول گئیں کیونکہ وزیراعظم عمران خان نے اپوزیشن کے بہت دباؤ کے باوجود سمارٹ لاک ڈاؤن کو ترجیح دی۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ کورونا وائرس وبائی امراض کے دوران بھارت اور بنگلہ دیش کی برآمدات پیچھے رہ گئیں لیکن ہماری برآمدات میں اضافہ ہوا اور پاکستانی جی ڈی پی میں 4.5 فیصد اضافہ دیکھنے میں آیا کیونکہ وزیراعظم نے ملک میں صنعتی پہیے کو چلانے کے لیے ضروری اقدامات کیے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ وزیراعظم عمران خان واحد لیڈر تھے جو دیوار سے آگے دیکھنے کی صلاحیت رکھتے تھے۔ اسے وقت سے پہلے اچھی طرح احساس ہو گیا تھا کہ اگر ہم اپنے کاروبار بند کر دیتے ہیں تو غریب مزدوروں اور روزانہ اجرت کمانے والوں کی زندگی مزید دکھی ہو جائے گی۔ فرخ حبیب نے کہا کہ ہم عارضی ترقی کے حق میں نہیں تھے۔

ہماری توجہ معیشت کی پائیدار ترقی پر تھی اور ہم آہستہ آہستہ اس ہدف کی طرف بڑھ رہے ہیں۔ ہم پیداواری صلاحیت اور صلاحیت میں اضافہ کر رہے تھے اور ہر چیز کو کریڈٹ کارڈ سسٹم پر چلانے سے گریزاں تھے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ غیر ملکی ترسیلات زر بھی معاشی پائیداری کا ایک بڑا ذریعہ ہیں اور اس سلسلے میں بیرون ملک مقیم پاکستان نے اس سال پاکستان کو 30 ارب ڈالر بھیجے ہیں اور ہم کوشش کر رہے ہیں کہ یہ رقم اگلے سال 35 ارب ڈالر تک بڑھا دی جائے۔
