Inauguration of first transgender school in Lahore: Punjab School Education Department

Murad Raas, the minister of education for Punjab, cut the ribbon to officially open the school in New Garden Town, close to Barkat Market. Several members of the civic society, educators, transgender people, and others were there.

There will be two shifts at the school. The students will receive instruction during the first shift, and technical competence training during the second.

The school had about 36 transgender students enrolled. The girl's school has a section designated just for transsexual students. Three classrooms were built in a double-story structure.

While two consultants were assigned to the transgender community to help them understand their issues, teachers at the schools would also be transgender. Neeli Rana, a trans woman, said the government had done well in educating the locals.

پنجاب کے وزیر تعلیم مراد راس نے برکت مارکیٹ کے قریب نیو گارڈن ٹاؤن میں سرکاری طور پر اسکول کھولنے کے لیے فیتہ کاٹ دیا۔ شہری معاشرے کے کئی ارکان، ماہرین تعلیم، ٹرانس جینڈر لوگ اور دیگر وہاں موجود تھے۔
سکول میں دو شفٹیں ہوں گی۔ طلباء کو پہلی شفٹ کے دوران ہدایات اور دوسری شفٹ کے دوران تکنیکی قابلیت کی تربیت ملے گی۔
اسکول میں تقریباً 36 ٹرانس جینڈر طلبہ کا داخلہ ہوا تھا۔ لڑکیوں کے اسکول میں ایک سیکشن ہے جو صرف غیر جنس پرست طلباء کے لیے مختص کیا گیا ہے۔ تین کلاس روم دو منزلہ ڈھانچے میں بنائے گئے تھے۔
جب کہ دو کنسلٹنٹس کو ٹرانسجینڈر کمیونٹی کو ان کے مسائل کو سمجھنے میں مدد کرنے کے لیے تفویض کیا گیا تھا، اسکولوں میں اساتذہ بھی ٹرانسجینڈر ہوں گے۔ ایک ٹرانس خاتون نیلی رانا نے کہا کہ حکومت نے مقامی لوگوں کو تعلیم دینے میں اچھا کام کیا ہے۔
