Hearing Of The Illegal Allotment Of Plots At Nehr-e-Khayyam Adjourned By The AC

The case was adjourned by the Accountability Court-II judge after it was revealed to him that Amjad Iqbal Qureshi, who was the counsel for the accused Rauf Akhter Farooq, Najamuz Zaman is absent. He was busy in the Supreme Court which meant he was unable to submit the arguments related to the acquittal applications of the two accused.

The acquittal applications were signed and filed by both of the accused under the national accountability ordinance 2021. The hearing of the case has been pushed back to May 13.

The accused had used their authority to allot the government land located within Nehr-e-Khayyum to the M/S Friends associates. Furthermore, these people had used fake accounts for the payment of the plots.

احتساب عدالت 2 کے جج نے کیس کی سماعت اس وقت ملتوی کر دی جب ان کے سامنے یہ انکشاف ہوا کہ امجد اقبال قریشی جو کہ ملزم رؤف اختر فاروق کے وکیل تھے نجم زمان غیر حاضر ہیں۔ وہ سپریم کورٹ میں مصروف تھے جس کا مطلب ہے کہ وہ دونوں ملزمان کی بریت کی درخواستوں سے متعلق دلائل پیش کرنے سے قاصر تھے۔
بریت کی درخواستوں پر دونوں ملزمان نے قومی احتساب آرڈیننس 2021 کے تحت دستخط کر کے دائر کیے تھے۔ کیس کی سماعت 13 مئی تک ملتوی کر دی گئی ہے۔
ملزمان نے اپنے اختیار کا استعمال کرتے ہوئے نہر خیوم کے اندر واقع سرکاری زمین ایم/ایس فرینڈز کے ساتھیوں کو الاٹ کی تھی۔ مزید یہ کہ ان لوگوں نے پلاٹوں کی ادائیگی کے لیے جعلی اکاؤنٹس استعمال کیے تھے۔
