Peshawar: According to the news sources, the government has identified Chorr Valley as a tourist spot and a plan has been approved to uplift the area.
The move came as a measure to boost tourism and generate economic activity in the area. For this purpose, the federal government and provincial government has granted PKR 4.4 billion, which will be utilized for uplift projects in the region like construction of link roads in the Hazara and Malakand Divisions.
As per details, the provincial government is keen to enhance the tourism activity in the province and for that reason, an additional PKR 2 billion were granted for the development of various scenic spots in Swabi, DI Khan, Buner, Kohat, and other southern districts.
The recent statistics suggest that there have been over 2.5 million local and foreign tourists in the Galiyat, Hazara, Malakand divisions, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Kumrat, and Kalash valleys. This year, the numbers would be lower because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
