Govt facilitating construction of housing units for salaried, low-income groups: PM

According to the news sources, The PM appreciated the ministry of housing to complete the decade-old stalled housing projects for the government employees and stressed that the authorities should also ensure timely completion of further 88,000 housing units.

He said this while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) Officer’s Residencia, Kurri Road. The project was conceived in 2008 on 90 acres of land provided by the Capital Development Authority.

The total cost of the project was Rs6.5 billion, consisting of 588 grey structure housing units in the three categories. This project was launched for federal government employees.

A full-scale physical work was initiated on the stalled project in 2018 in light of the prime minister’s vision of providing shelters to the citizens of Pakistan. The project also includes 88 commercial shops, 66 apartments, a community center, etc, having all the basic facilities.

While addressing the ceremony, He further added that, For the first time in the country’s history, housing projects worth Rs124bn through bank loans had been approved and a loan of Rs40bn had already been released by banks, he said.

The banking mortgage law would enable the people to divert the rent of their rented houses to pay easy installments for the construction of their residences, he added.

Unlike mortgage financing in the US and Europe which stood at about 80pc, the prime minister said it was less than 1pc of the GDP in Pakistan.

خبر رساں ذرائع کے مطابق وزیراعظم نے سرکاری ملازمین کے لیے دہائیوں سے رکے ہوئے ہاؤسنگ منصوبوں کو مکمل کرنے پر وزارت ہاؤسنگ کی تعریف کی اور زور دیا کہ حکام مزید 88 ہزار ہاؤسنگ یونٹس کی بروقت تکمیل کو بھی یقینی بنائیں۔
یہ بات انہوں نے پاکستان ہاؤسنگ اتھارٹی (پی ایچ اے) کے آفیسرز ریذیڈنشیا، کری روڈ کی افتتاحی تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہی۔ اس منصوبے کا تصور 2008 میں کیپٹل ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کی طرف سے فراہم کردہ 90 ایکڑ اراضی پر کیا گیا تھا۔
منصوبے کی کل لاگت 6.5 بلین روپے تھی جو کہ تین کیٹیگریز میں 588 گرے اسٹرکچر ہاؤسنگ یونٹس پر مشتمل ہے۔ یہ منصوبہ وفاقی حکومت کے ملازمین کے لیے شروع کیا گیا تھا۔
پاکستان کے شہریوں کو پناہ گاہیں فراہم کرنے کے وزیر اعظم کے وژن کی روشنی میں 2018 میں رکے ہوئے منصوبے پر مکمل فزیکل ورک شروع کیا گیا تھا۔ اس پروجیکٹ میں 88 کمرشل شاپس، 66 اپارٹمنٹس، ایک کمیونٹی سینٹر وغیرہ بھی شامل ہیں جن میں تمام بنیادی سہولیات موجود ہیں۔
تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ ملکی تاریخ میں پہلی بار بینک قرضوں کے ذریعے 124 ارب روپے کے ہاؤسنگ پروجیکٹس کی منظوری دی گئی ہے اور بینکوں کی جانب سے 40 ارب روپے کا قرضہ پہلے ہی جاری کیا جا چکا ہے۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ بینکنگ مارگیج قانون لوگوں کو اپنے کرائے کے مکانات کے کرایہ کو اپنی رہائش گاہوں کی تعمیر کے لیے آسان اقساط کی ادائیگی کے لیے موڑ دینے کے قابل بنائے گا۔
امریکہ اور یورپ میں مارگیج فنانسنگ کے برعکس جو کہ تقریباً 80 فیصد تھی، وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ یہ پاکستان میں جی ڈی پی کے 1 فیصد سے بھی کم ہے۔
