Governor Punjab Issues Ordinance to regularize Private Housing Schemes

Issuing the Punjab Commission for Regularization of Irregular Housing Schemes Ordinance 2021 to set up a commission and penalties to check violations, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that illegal housing schemes will not be tolerable, and strict legal action will be taken against all such housing schemes.

The commission will be led by a retired Supreme Court or a High Court judge with a town planner, and a civil engineer having 20 years of national, and international exposure to its members.

Other members who will become part of it will include a lawyer, and an environmentalist with at least 20 years of practice while the commission could hire services of experts from the public, and private sector.

The commission enjoys security for the performed actions and is beyond the jurisdiction of courts besides being empowered to make rules for its effective functioning.

If a housing scheme does not meet the approved standards for the internal road width, it will be fined two times the value of deficit land as per the applicable residential valuation table.

Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said with the establishment of the commission, immediate and strict action will be taken against illegal housing schemes.

He added that the government will ensure transparency, and merit to protect people`s interests.

دہلی دروازہ پر ہر ایک سڑک پر قبضہ کر رہا ہے ، اور اپنا سامان بیچ رہا ہے ، اگر کوئی سڑک پر اپنی کار کھڑا کرتا ہے اور غائب ہو جاتا ہے تو ، لوگوں کو اس کا خمیازہ بھگتنا پڑتا ہے۔

شہریوں کا کہنا ہے کہ تجاوزات کی وجہ سے سفر میں صرف چند منٹ لگتے ہیں۔ اور کسی بھی ہنگامی صورتحال کی صورت میں ، یہاں تک کہ ایمبولینس بھی دستیاب نہیں ہے۔

شہریوں کا مزید کہنا تھا کہ تجاوزات مارکیٹ انتظامیہ کی اتفاق رائے کے بغیر ممکن نہیں ، ٹریفک کی روانی متاثر ہے اور اسے چلنا مشکل ہے ، ضلعی انتظامیہ اور میٹرو پولیٹن کارپوریشن کے اقدامات صرف ایک نمائش ہیں۔
