Government of Sindh to develop towns under PRS

According to the news sources, the provincial government has formulated a village development plan aiming at larger settlements within a 30-kilometer radius of the Rural Growth Center (RGC) that is 'Chuhar Jamali' town. This development plan covers housing, drinking water, walkways, drains, and a kitchen garden.

Dr. Kaiser Bengali, senior economist, and strategic advisor at Sindh Union Council Community and Economic Strengthening Support said,

 “The consolidation of infrastructure and services around Chuhar Jamali town would result in poverty lessening and improvement of living standard of the people,”

He further added, this in his presentation ‘Pilot Implementation in Chuhar Jamali’ at a seminar on Tuesday under the government of Sindh’s PRS, organized by the Sindh Directorate of Urban & Regional Policy in collaboration with the European Union's (EU) technical assistant team.

He said the chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had himself selected Chuhar Jamali for the pilot project and the provincial cabinet extends its full support for the project.

Ms. Kathryn Ennis-Carter, team leader of the EU SUCCESS technical assistance team, said the Sindh government has approved PC-1 of the pilot project and has also allocated funds for it. The schemes for facilities like school, water, and drainage have been approved and construction of a hospital is underway. She hoped that construction on these projects would start soon.

Faisal Ahmed Uqaili, planning secretary at Planning and Development Department, Sindh praised Dr. Kaiser Bengali and his team for their efforts, saying that the project would end in December.

He said the provincial government would try its best to keep it up to improve the lives of fellow citizens in the poor districts and bring them all amenities of life that they deserve.

The PRS of the Sindh government includes the implementation of town-to-market infrastructure, improvement in quality of education, healthcare, water supply, and drainage. This would be supplemented by the construction of quality roads to facilitate access to the rural growth centers.

خبر رساں ذرائع کے مطابق، صوبائی حکومت نے دیہی ترقی کے مرکز (آر جی سی) کے 30 کلومیٹر کے دائرے میں بڑی بستیوں کا مقصد ایک گاؤں کی ترقی کا منصوبہ بنایا ہے جو کہ 'چوہڑ جمالی' ٹاؤن ہے۔ اس ترقیاتی منصوبے میں رہائش، پینے کے پانی، واک ویز، نالیاں اور کچن گارڈن شامل ہیں۔
ڈاکٹر قیصر بنگالی، سینئر ماہر معاشیات، اور سندھ یونین کونسل کمیونٹی اینڈ اکنامک سٹرینتھننگ سپورٹ کے اسٹریٹجک ایڈوائزر نے کہا،
"چوہڑ جمالی ٹاؤن کے ارد گرد انفراسٹرکچر اور خدمات کے استحکام کے نتیجے میں غربت میں کمی اور لوگوں کے معیار زندگی میں بہتری آئے گی"۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا، یہ بات منگل کو حکومت سندھ کے (پی آر ایس) کے تحت ہونے والے سیمینار میں 'پائلٹ امپلیمنٹیشن ان چوہڑ جمالی' میں اپنی پریزنٹیشن میں کہی، جس کا اہتمام سندھ ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف اربن اینڈ ریجنل پالیسی نے یورپی یونین (ای یو) کی ٹیکنیکل اسسٹنٹ ٹیم کے تعاون سے کیا تھا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ وزیراعلیٰ سید مراد علی شاہ نے خود چوہڑ جمالی کو پائلٹ پراجیکٹ کے لیے منتخب کیا تھا اور صوبائی کابینہ اس منصوبے کے لیے مکمل تعاون فراہم کرتی ہے۔

 ٹیکنیکل اسسٹنس ٹیم کی ٹیم لیڈر محترمہ (کیتھرین اینس سینٹر) نے کہا کہ سندھ حکومت نے پائلٹ پروجیکٹ کے (پی سی-1) کی منظوری دے دی ہے اور اس کے لیے فنڈز بھی مختص کیے ہیں۔ اسکول، پانی اور نکاسی آب جیسی سہولیات کی اسکیموں کو منظوری دی گئی ہے اور اسپتال کی تعمیر جاری ہے۔ انہوں نے امید ظاہر کی کہ ان منصوبوں کی تعمیر جلد شروع ہو جائے گی۔
محکمہ پلاننگ اینڈ ڈویلپمنٹ سندھ کے پلاننگ سیکریٹری فیصل احمد عقیلی نے ڈاکٹر قیصر بنگالی اور ان کی ٹیم کی کاوشوں کو سراہتے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ منصوبہ دسمبر میں ختم ہو جائے گا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ صوبائی حکومت غریب اضلاع میں ساتھی شہریوں کی زندگیوں کو بہتر بنانے اور انہیں زندگی کی وہ تمام سہولیات فراہم کرنے کی پوری کوشش کرے گی جس کے وہ مستحق ہیں۔
سندھ حکومت کے پی آر ایس میں ٹاؤن ٹو مارکیٹ انفراسٹرکچر کا نفاذ، تعلیم کے معیار میں بہتری، صحت کی دیکھ بھال، پانی کی فراہمی اور نکاسی آب شامل ہے۔ دیہی ترقی کے مراکز تک رسائی کو آسان بنانے کے لیے معیاری سڑکوں کی تعمیر سے اس کی تکمیل ہوگی۔
