Government announces suspension of gas/RLNG supply to CNG stations of Punjab & KP

It is to inform you that regasification from Engro Elengy Terminal Limited (EETL) (Terminal-I) shall be disrupted during the period from 13th September 2021 to 15th September 2021 due to re-deployment of FSRU Exquisite after dry dock, said a memorandum shared by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). 

It is worth mentioning here that The Exquisite FSRU operated by Excelerate Energy of USA had been on dry-docking since June 29, 2021, for repair and was replaced with a larger FSRU Sequoia.

Last week the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) board of directors rejected Engro Elengy Terminal (EET) notice to upgrade to a bigger floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) and asked them to recall Exquisite back to work.

The SNPL memorandum further said that “In order to manage the gas loads during the said period, it is requested to please advise all the regions to ensure the suspension of gas/RLNG supply to CNG, cement, general industry and its captive power (Nom-Export) sector across the franchised area of SNGPL (including Punjab & KP).” 

In view of the above, it is requested to please advise the concerned to start physical disconnections from 1800 hrs on 12 September 2021 so that gas/RLNG supply to the above sectors should be completely suspended from 12am on 13th September 2021 till midnight of 15 September 2021.

اسلام آباد: حکومت نے پنجاب اور کے پی میں سی این جی اسٹیشنز ، سیمنٹ سیکٹر اور عام صنعت کو گیس/آر ایل این جی سپلائی معطل کرنے کا اعلان کیا ہے۔

یہ بتانا ہے کہ اینگرو الینگی ٹرمینل لمیٹڈ (ای ای ٹی ایل) (ٹرمینل I) کی طرف سے 13 ستمبر 2021 سے 15 ستمبر 2021 کی مدت کے دوران خشک گودی کے بعد ایف ایس آر یو کی دوبارہ تعیناتی کی وجہ سے خلل پڑے گا۔

یہاں یہ بات قابل ذکر ہے کہ امریکہ کی ایکسلریٹ انرجی کے زیر انتظام شاندار FSRU 29 جون 2021 سے مرمت کے لیے ڈرائی ڈاکنگ پر تھا اور اس کی جگہ ایک بڑا FSRU سیکویا تھا۔

پچھلے ہفتے سوئی سدرن گیس کمپنی (ایس ایس جی سی) کے بورڈ آف ڈائریکٹرز نے اینگرو الینگی ٹرمینل (ای ای ٹی) کے نوٹس کو بڑے فلوٹنگ اسٹوریج اور ریگیسیفیکیشن یونٹ (ایف ایس آر یو) میں اپ گریڈ کرنے سے انکار کر دیا اور ان سے کہا کہ وہ دوبارہ کام پر واپس آئیں۔

ایس این پی ایل کے میمورنڈم میں مزید کہا گیا ہے کہ "مذکورہ مدت کے دوران گیس کے بوجھ کو منظم کرنے کے لیے ، درخواست کی جاتی ہے کہ براہ کرم تمام علاقوں کو مشورہ دیں کہ وہ سی این جی ، سیمنٹ ، عام صنعت اور اس کیپٹی پاور کو گیس/آر ایل این جی کی فراہمی کی معطلی کو یقینی بنائیں۔

مذکورہ بالا کے پیش نظر ، درخواست کی جاتی ہے کہ براہ کرم متعلقہ افراد کو 12 ستمبر 2021 کو 1800 بجے سے جسمانی رابطہ منقطع کرنے کا مشورہ دیں تاکہ مذکورہ شعبوں کو گیس/آر ایل این جی کی فراہمی 13 ستمبر 2021 کی صبح 12 بجے سے 15 ستمبر کی آدھی رات تک مکمل طور پر معطل رہے-
