Government, ABAD get on the same page to solve housing crisis

Government has recently announced a relief package of 100 billion PKR for the construction sector in April which was to be followed by the building of 5M houses in NPHP. Developers and builders were asked to register their projects on the federal Board of Revenue Web Portal before the deadline that is 31^st December and complete the grey structure of their projects before 22^nd of September.

While giving and entire picture of the registration on the FBR portal where builders are supposed to submit their projects, Chairman of Association of Builders and Developer (ABAD) Fayyaz Ilyas claimed that more than 300 projects have been registered with NPHP under the special package for the construction industry.

Chairman ABAD stated that:

“We are expecting that by Dec 31, this number will be more than 500. This will lead to more than Rs600 billion investment,”

Builders and developers who are working in the project are facing problems in getting approval for building plans in Sindh due to many different reasons. However, work in other regions of the country, especially Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has begun.

Chairman ABAD also informed the media that:

‘This is the first time in the history of Pakistan that a government has taken the right steps to deal with the housing problems,’

حکومت نے اپریل میں تعمیراتی شعبے کے لئے 100 ارب کے ریلیف پیکیج کا اعلان کیا تھا جس کے بعد این پی ایچ پی میں 50 لاکھ مکانات کی تعمیر ہوگی۔ ڈویلپرز اور بلڈروں سے کہا گیا تھا کہ وہ 31 دسمبر کی ڈیڈ لائن سے پہلے فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو ویب پورٹل پر اپنے منصوبوں کو رجسٹر کریں اور 22 ستمبر سے پہلے اپنے منصوبوں کا ڈھانچہ مکمل کریں۔

ایف بی آر پورٹل پر جہاں رجسٹریشن کے بلڈرز اپنے پروجیکٹس پیش کرنے والے ہیں ، کے اندراج کے پورے منظر نامے کو پیش کرتے ہوئے ، اے بی اے ڈی کے چیئرمین فیاض الیاس نے دعوی کیا ہے کہ خصوصی پیکج کے تحت این پی ایچ پی کے ساتھ 300 سے زیادہ منصوبے رجسٹرڈ ہوچکے ہیں۔

چیئرمین آباد نے بیان کیا کہ

"ہم توقع کر رہے ہیں کہ 31 دسمبر تک یہ تعداد 500 سے زیادہ ہوجائے گی۔ اس سے 600 ارب روپے سے زیادہ کی سرمایہ کاری ہوگی۔"

اس منصوبے میں کام کرنے والے بلڈر اور ڈویلپرز کو بہت سی مختلف وجوہات کی وجہ سے سندھ میں عمارتوں کے منصوبوں کی منظوری حاصل کرنے میں پریشانی کا سامنا کرنا پڑ رہا ہے۔ تاہم ، ملک کے دیگر خطوں خصوصا پنجاب اور خیبر پختون خوا میں کام شروع ہوچکا ہے۔

چیئرمین اے بی اے ڈی نے میڈیا کو یہ بھی بتایا کہ

‘پاکستان کی تاریخ میں یہ پہلا موقع ہے جب کسی حکومت نے رہائش کے مسائل سے نمٹنے کے لئے صحیح اقدامات کیے ہیں ،’
