GB Minister Honors Chinese Laborers Killed During KKH Construction

He was giving a speech on Monday at a ceremony held at Gilgit's Old Assembly Hall in honor of the families of the victims who had traveled from China to pay their respects at the graves of their dear ones.

Speaking on behalf of GB Chief Minister Gulbar Khan, Mr. Khan greeted the visitors. The occasion was also attended by Chinese engineers who worked on the project. The minister said that the sacrifices made by workers and engineers during the construction of the KKH made the One Belt One Road initiative possible. Mushtaq Hussain Khan, a representative of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, organized the visit. Representatives of the GB government also accompanied the delegation.

According to Mr. Ahmed, 88 of the 200 Chinese engineers and workers who died while working on the KKH were buried in the Danyor cemetery. Several dead employees' bodies were gone.

جی بی کے وزیر اعلیٰ گلبر خان کی جانب سے بات کرتے ہوئے مسٹر خان نے آنے والوں کو خوش آمدید کہا۔ اس موقع پر منصوبے پر کام کرنے والے چینی انجینئرز نے بھی شرکت کی۔ وزیر نے کہا کہ کےکےایچ کی تعمیر کے دوران کارکنوں اور انجینئرز کی قربانیوں نے ون بیلٹ ون روڈ اقدام کو ممکن بنایا۔ فیڈریشن آف پاکستان چیمبرز آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری کے نمائندے مشتاق حسین خان نے اس دورے کا اہتمام کیا۔ جی بی حکومت کے نمائندے بھی وفد کے ہمراہ تھے۔
مسٹر احمد کے مطابق کے کے ایچ پر کام کرتے ہوئے مرنے والے 200 چینی انجینئرز اور ورکرز میں سے 88 کو دنیور قبرستان میں سپرد خاک کر دیا گیا۔ متعدد ملازمین کی لاشیں غائب ہو گئیں۔
