About 1100 km gas pipeline will be laid from Karachi to Lahore. Local companies will lay the gas pipeline, while the goods used in the project will be imported from Russia.
According to details, the agreement was signed by Secretary Petroleum Dr. Arshad Mahmoud and Deputy Director of the Ministry of Energy of Russia Alexandr Tolparov.
Energy Minister Hamad Azhar said the project had been delayed since 2015. A documented agreement was signed today for technical cooperation. The project will cost 2.5 billion and will be completed by 2023. Gas from Pakistan's North to South Steamline is an important project.
The energy minister said that local companies would lay the gas pipeline, while the import of the project would come from Russia. OGRA would fix the tariff of the gas pipeline. The agreement will enhance economic and energy cooperation between the two countries.
Alexander Tolparov, head of the Russian delegation, said that the North-South gas pipeline is an important project for Pakistan.
This project will be a milestone for Pakistan's development and energy security.

تفصیلات کے مطابق معاہدے پر سیکرٹری پٹرولیم ڈاکٹرارشد محمود اورروس کی وزات توانائی کے ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر الیگزینڈٹولپاروف نے دستخط کئے۔دستخط کی تقریب میں وزیرتوانائی حماد اظہر ،وزارت پٹرولیم اورروس کی وزارت توانائی کے نمائندوں کی شرکت۔
وزیر توانائی حماد اظہر کا کہنا تھا کہ یہ منصوبہ 2015 سے تاخیر کا شکار تھا ،آج ٹیکنکل تعاون کے لیے دستاویزات کے معاہدے پر دستخط ہوئے ہیں۔منصوبے پر2.5ارب ڈالرلاگت آئے گی اوریہ 2023تک مکمل ہوگا۔پاکستان کے نارتھ سے ساوتھ کی جانب گیس سٹیم لائن اہم منصوبہ ہے۔
وزیر توانائی نے کہا کہ مقامی کمپنیاں گیس پائپ لائن بچھانے کاکام کریں گی،جبکہ منصوبے کا درآمدسامان روس سے آئے گا۔گیس پائپ لائن کے ٹیرف کا تعین اوگرا کرے گا۔گیس پائپ لائن کی تعمیر سے پاکستان کے شمال سے جنوب کی جانب گیس کی ترسیل ہوگی۔معاہدے سے دونوں ملکوں کے درمیان معاشی اورتوانائی کے شعبوں میں تعاون بڑھے گا۔
روسی وفد کے سربراہ الیگزینڈٹولپاروف نے کہا کہ شمال سے جنوب گیس پائپ لائن پاکستان کے لئے اہم منصوبہ ہے۔یہ منصوبہ پاکستان کی ترقی اورانرجی سکیورٹی کےلیے سنگ میل ثابت ہوگا۔
