Funds are Required for Infrastructural Up-Gradation of Multan

Multan: Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan has asked the government of Punjab to release more funds that can help in the infrastructural up-gradation of the city Multan.


During a meeting held for reviewing the performance of various governmental departments, Qureshi exclaimed that the incumbent government believes that by abiding the laws of transparency and merit in every governmental department, eradication of corruption from Pakistan is possible.

The foreign minister has also directed the concerned officers and authorities of Waste Management Company to look into shortage of sanitary workers matter as soon as possible and ensure proper machinery and equipment that are required. He wants a report on the cleanliness of the city with a detailed analysis.

Recently, Ejaz Hussan Janjua, the Chairman of Parks and Horticultural Authority (PHA) approved a budget worth PKR 803 million for Multan city.

It is recently evaluated that nearly 35% of the city does not have access to proper sewerage arrangements, therefore Shah Mehmood Qureshi asked the concerned officials to upgrade the system of disposal in the city at earliest. He further asked the authorities that are concerned with the operation against WASA defaulters to ensure proper recovery of pending dues that is worth PKR 1.25 billion.

The local parliamentarians were called at the same time to raise their voices in the assembly for ensuring to address the problems that are being faced by the people of Multan city. Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi further added that the political leadership is standing like a solid rock along with district administration to make sure the progress as well as the prosperity of the city.

With the allocation of more fund, the problems that are being faced by the people of Multan are expected to be resolved and the city can become beautiful once again.
