LAHORE: On Thursday, the district government authorized a Rs6.17 billion budget for the reconstruction, extension, and rehabilitation of four highways in various parts of the city. (Reported by news source)
Four highways, including Manga Raiwind Road, Lake City to Raiwind Road, Raiwind Road Railway crossing to Sau-i-Asil, and rehabilitation of Lahore Ring Road North Loop, were renovated and widened on the instruction of Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.
Farhan Rasheed, the deputy director of development for District Lahore, stated that it was projected to cost Rs6.17 billion to rebuild, renovate, and widen the four highways.
He claimed that a total of Rs1.140 billion had been approved for the rehabilitation and widening of the 10-kilometer Lake City to Raiwind Road, with an initial release of Rs257 million.
He said that Rs. 2.034 billion in funds had been released for the renovation of the Lahore Ring Road North Loop.
Mr. Rasheed continued by saying that they will soon begin building and widening the road plans and would give the people better transportation options.
He assured them that they would finish the necessary legal procedures for the road widening within the allotted time.

وزیر اعلیٰ چوہدری پرویز الٰہی کی ہدایت پر مانگا رائے ونڈ روڈ، لیک سٹی تا رائیونڈ روڈ، رائیونڈ روڈ ریلوے کراسنگ سے ساؤ اصیل اور لاہور رنگ روڈ نارتھ لوپ کی بحالی سمیت چار شاہراہوں کی تزئین و آرائش اور چوڑائی کی گئی۔
ڈسٹرکٹ لاہور کے ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر برائے ترقی فرحان رشید نے بتایا کہ چار شاہراہوں کی تعمیر نو، تزئین و آرائش اور چوڑا کرنے پر 6.17 بلین روپے لاگت کا تخمینہ لگایا گیا تھا۔
انہوں نے دعویٰ کیا کہ 10 کلومیٹر طویل لیک سٹی تا رائے ونڈ روڈ کی بحالی اور چوڑا کرنے کے لیے مجموعی طور پر 1.140 بلین روپے کی منظوری دی گئی ہے جس میں 257 ملین روپے کی ابتدائی ریلیز کی گئی ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ روپے۔ لاہور رنگ روڈ نارتھ لوپ کی تزئین و آرائش کے لیے 2.034 ارب روپے کے فنڈز جاری کیے گئے تھے۔
جناب رشید نے یہ کہتے ہوئے جاری رکھا کہ وہ جلد ہی سڑکوں کی تعمیر اور چوڑائی کا منصوبہ شروع کریں گے اور لوگوں کو ٹرانسپورٹ کے بہتر مواقع فراہم کریں گے۔
انہوں نے انہیں یقین دلایا کہ وہ مقررہ وقت کے اندر سڑک کو چوڑا کرنے کے لیے ضروری قانونی طریقہ کار کو مکمل کریں گے۔
