For the completion of 4,158 development projects, CM Sindh unfreezes Rs. 208 billion

Syed Hassan Naqvi, the chairman of the Sindh Planning and Development Board, informed the chief minister that work on 4,158 programmes totaling Rs. 204.652 billion was already started before the budget was frozen. 199.649 billion rupees of the entire amount allotted were released but were subsequently frozen.

He added that the government had also frozen payments totaling Rs. 194.8 billion for another 1,324 programmes in the wake of the province's terrible floods.

According to Murad Ali Shah, the flood caused the farming community in Sindh to lose their harvests. The Sindh government has chosen to set aside Rs. 11 billion to give the farmers wheat and oil seeds as a means of help during these trying times.

کراچی: وزیراعلیٰ سندھ سید مراد علی شاہ نے وزیراعلیٰ ہاؤس میں مختلف محکموں سے جاری ترقیاتی منصوبوں کے پورٹ فولیو کا جائزہ لیا اور 208.113 ارب روپے کے 4158 جاری اور دیگر منصوبوں کو غیر منجمد کرنے پر اتفاق کیا۔ (خبر کے ذریعہ رپورٹ کیا گیا)
وزیراعلیٰ سندھ کو سندھ پلاننگ اینڈ ڈویلپمنٹ بورڈ کے چیئرمین سید حسن نقوی نے بتایا کہ بجٹ روکے جانے سے پہلے ہی 4158 پروگراموں پر کام شروع ہوچکا تھاجس کی لاگت 204.652 بلین ہے.
مختص کی گئی تمام رقم میں سے 199.649 ارب روپے جاری کیے گئے لیکن بعد میں منجمد کر دیے گئے۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ حکومت نے صوبے کے خوفناک سیلاب کے تناظر میں مزید 1,324 پروگراموں کے لیے کل 194.8 بلین روپے کی ادائیگیاں بھی منجمد کر دی ہیں۔
مراد علی شاہ کے مطابق سیلاب کی وجہ سے سندھ میں کاشتکار برادری کی فصلیں ضائع ہوئیں۔ اس مشکل وقت میں سندھ حکومت نے 11 ارب روپے کسانوں کی مدد کے لیے گندم اور تیل کے بیج فراہم کرنے کے لیے مختص کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔
