Firefighting system yet to be installed in the Citizen Facilitation Centre which holds property files worth billions

The Centre which was established by the CDA consists of all the offices of the authority’s estate wing as well as the Building Control Directorate. The Directorate without getting a NOC from the emergency and disaster management directorate of MCI does not issue a completion certificate to any building. However, the facilitation centre, located in G-7, near the Sitara market has still not received a proper firefighting system.

The CDA official said that a partial system had already been placed in the basement of the building however, a proper and complete system was still required in the entire building. He said a fire alarm system, smoke detectors, and so on are required to be installed in the building.

He further informed that since all the records were digitized, there was no risk of the files being damaged, however, he acknowledged that a proper firefighting system still needed to be installed in the building.

سینٹر جو سی ڈی اے نے قائم کیا تھا اس میں اتھارٹی کے اسٹیٹ ونگ کے تمام دفاتر کے ساتھ ساتھ بلڈنگ کنٹرول ڈائریکٹوریٹ بھی شامل ہے۔ ایم سی آئی کے ایمرجنسی اور ڈیزاسٹر مینجمنٹ ڈائریکٹوریٹ سے این او سی حاصل کیے بغیر ڈائریکٹوریٹ کسی بھی عمارت کو مکمل ہونے کا سرٹیفکیٹ جاری نہیں کرتا ہے۔ تاہم، ستارہ مارکیٹ کے قریب سہولت مرکز کو ابھی تک آگ بجھانے کا مناسب نظام نہیں ملا ہے۔
سی ڈی اے اہلکار کا کہنا تھا کہ عمارت کے تہہ خانے میں جزوی نظام پہلے ہی لگا دیا گیا تھا تاہم اب بھی پوری عمارت میں ایک مناسب اور مکمل نظام کی ضرورت ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ عمارت میں فائر الارم سسٹم، سموک ڈیٹیکٹر وغیرہ لگانے کی ضرورت ہے۔
انہوں نے مزید بتایا کہ چونکہ تمام ریکارڈ کو ڈیجیٹائز کیا گیا تھا، اس لیے فائلوں کے خراب ہونے کا کوئی خطرہ نہیں تھا، تاہم، انہوں نے تسلیم کیا کہ عمارت میں فائر فائٹنگ کا مناسب نظام نصب کرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔
